I was wandering if anyone here has seen any ill affects with using Sonax? I know some reputable people on another forum that detail for a living and have had issues with it. They said that the iron reactors have rusted their lugnuts on their wheels and their bolts on their calipers. I was planning on ordering some of this to try out, but after hearing this I'm not sure. Anybody else have this experience?

Besides smelling like a hair salon (well at least the old formula) I can't imagine it's any worse than any other wheel cleaning product on the market.

Keep in mind, the ingredients are meant to react with certain elements. So you need to rinse it off completely; just as you would with an acidic cleaner (e.g. Meg's Wheel Brightener).

rinsing will be key just like in any other products you would use.

I have found if you run into any problems with Sonax Full Effect Wheel Cleaner you can get yourself out of it.

It's possible, but I don't think so. Braking system of most cars are very susceptible to rust. I have 40,000 miles on my 08 WRX and I have not used Sonax to clean my wheels and my calipers have accumulated their fare share of rust.

Rust on the brake system is caused by water...car washes, rain, snow, etc.

I actually have found that the Sonax FE is a pretty good ruse remover. Not sure what these people were seeing.
