Any one else feel it? I am in Northern VA and the damn thing shook stuff off our desks here. My sister said she even felt it in Pittsburgh.
Felt it up here in Canada!!! Sitting at a desk and it felt like someone was rocking my seat back and forth. Very light though.
epicenter was 20 miles away from home/work ... no major damage to the building. I haven't checked the house yet.
We live in Winston Salem I work in Greensboro (30 minutes away) and my wife sent me a text while I was on lunch saying the house was shaking... I thought she was crazy but when I came back from lunch Fox news was on in the waitin room and they were talkin about an earthquake some ppl at work said they felt it and others, like me, felt nothing
It was just odd, I honestly thought someone was running down the hall or that the AC was trying to kick on in the building but when it went more than 10 seconds and people started leaving I figured out what it was.
i was on the beach in NJ with my girlfriend and the whole beach started moving. needless to say we promptly grabbed all our shit and got the eff outta there.
I've felt some of the bigger earthquakes. I'm in El Centro, Ca. last year, on Easter Sunday, we had two consecutive ones 7.2 and 6.9 that lasted about a minute total. Not a nice experience.......
felt it but more amazing was that instead of finding shelter or safety, some people were tweeting or posting about it while it happened. Here is a cartoon about what I mean: http://xkcd.com/723/
