I have to return this car on the 15th and have tried Mothers Back to Black as well as AG Rubber and Trim Care and nothing seems to tak the fading away...it's dressed the trim a bit, but you can still see the fading and whitish/grayish color underneath. I would be so thankful if someone could over night me a sample of UTTG, or enough to do the trim because I hear it's the only thing that will work on hammered trim. I can pay the shipping through Paypal.

I think process is almost as important as product. I imagine keeping the trim cool should help and reapply more coats of whatever product when fully dried.

Any chance of a picture of the trim in question, you may not need dressing. It's possible depending on the composition of the trim that you can use a finishing type polish, soft pad of your choice, and with the pad moistened enough, buff the area so slightly untill results are acheived. Caution is necessary and dependent on as i previously mentioned on the composition of trim. The more rubber like the trim is, the less likely route to go.

Pre wow and black wow work pretty well together. If the trim is recoverable, black wow can do it.

I think I am just going to apply lots and lots of Mother's Back 2 Black. It is making the trim look better, but the fading is not nearly going away.

Try Plexus Plastic Cleaner/Protectant/Polish. It really works.

if nothing works, try a heat gun.

Ive used mothers on some trashed trim, just make sure you clean the area thoroughly, and kep on coating it, it is going to take multiple treatments to get anywhere, the trim I did was a little greyer in appearance tha that volvo and took at least 10 thorough applications to get anywhere, I think it was 14-15 when all said and done; but it was Ford trim, not Volvo.

Heat gun, let it cool down and then apply something like black wow or new trim look gel

Use 1Z Einszett Deep Plastic cleaner and a magic eraser. You'll be able to remove the chalkiness. Be gentle. Don't rub too hard or you'll remove the texture from the trim. If it is not enough then try #0000 steel wool very gently to exfoliate the dead plastic, then again with the magic eraser to smooth out any fine scratches the steel wool might have left.

1Z Einszett Deep Plastic cleaner kicks arse. I hope that Phil @ DD stocks the 10L jugs again sometime, so I don't have to keep buying the small spray bottles. I know I'll be buying one. It is awesome at cleaning exterior trim, then UTTP to keep it nice and protected. (or something like Wolf's Nano Dressing or permanent like Opti-Coat.)

The OP mentioned the car has to be returned on the 15th. Any updates on what you ended up using? Final pictures?
