Once the door is open, it clears the row of lights closest to the front. More lights towards the front would have been covered by the door. For now, it works good and it's plenty bright when I'm detailing.

But yes, more is always better!

    Looks great.

I especially like the storage area above the garage itself.

That must really help to keep things clean and tidy.

True! Everything that doesn't look neat in the garage itself is kept in the attic. It's actually quite a large space, and from the floor to the ceiling it's about 6 feet tall.

This weekend's project is to put some R30 insulation up there. With this Texas weather, it's long overdue...

With that thermal board up there, what will the R value be after adding the new insulation? Are you going to go standard pink stuff or a Wool "Roxel" type of insulation?

I like the updates to the back yard too.

Great Update!!! Wow you have your shop high and tight. Very impressive! I like the storage area upstairs. Did you do all of that work? If you feel the need to do such work again feel free to contact me. I have a 2000 sg.ft shop that I am filling up with sawdust trying to make it a neat place such as you have shown. LOL!

Thanks for the picture update. I would post pictures but I am not able to do that on my computer any longer. I know not why? Or how to fix it?

Thanks guys. I'm not sure if the thermal board does too much, I'm still doing research on what the best insulation would be. Looks like R30 is best, but it's thick stuff so perhaps I should go with a lower R value. It will likely be cheaper, too. I did just order a fantastic turbine fan, so hopefully that will provide some relief. I'm looking at the standard pink batts from Home Depot.

I had most of the work done for me. What I did myself was:

    1) all inside paint
    2) install the attic trap door (together with my neighbor)
    3) install the flooring upstairs
    4) install the Gladiator GarageWorks

What still needs to be done:

    1) finish the RaceDeck floor
    2) replace the shitty vinyl wall base mold with PVC (with the temperatures being what they are in Texas, that glue is melting)
    3) insulate the attic
    4) maybe upgrade the lights

Looks like money well spent and I'm sure you'll love every minute of it. How wide is the driveway between the house and the wood fence?

Looks good, I especially like the attic you can store stuff to keep the clutter out of your workspace

Thanks, and I have been! The width between the driveway and the house is 10 feet and 5 inches.

That is great! I am happy for you.
Actually, I could live in there... So, when is the bathroom going in?

    Great job! Joe D.

That's a decent size. From the pics it looked to be pretty narrow.
