Pshh come on and stop making excuses! I think it's a dsg too Edit: nope it's a tiptronic in the early years
The new Golf R 270hp + turbo + AWD + fuel efficient + 6 speed manual + 4 doors = Win. If not just get a 08+ R32 with DSG or just a normal GTI
We test drove the A5 yesterday. It was a new model, without too many bells and whistles on it, and the 2.0T 4-cylinder. I must say that even for a base model, I was very impressed. Drove incredibly nice, the fit and finish on the inside was wonderful. And that 2.0T 4-cylinder is by no means slow.
I was looking at the A5 as my future car as well (though it's not going to be for a while probably). How was the cabin noise when you test drove it?
That thing is so damn quiet on the inside. Only when you step on her tail you hear that engine roaring. Well, as much as a turbocharged 4-cylinder roars Took it down a rougher road where I could still drive 70 mph, remained very quiet inside.
Having moved and parked a clients Audi, I noticed there is a significant throttle or boost lag. Give it 1/4 on the pedal and it inches nicely and about 3 seconds later is sort of launches with an unexpected acceleration... This was a 2008 model so maybe they corrected it and looking it up seems to be a common issue on forums.
The 2008 model would have been a V6, so that's why there was a boost lag. But I didn't notice any of the sort when I drove the 2.0T...
It was actually a 2.0T, apparently its the DBW system, which is why the sprint booster solves a lot of that jazz.
