Just applied Finish Kare 425 on my black vehicle today according to the nstructions on the label: "Spray it on and buff your vehicle to an instant glossy finish that stays cleaner longer", but when I tried to buff it off, it was hard to buff off & it streaked.
I don't know if the high temperature has something to do with it. It's hot over here in Dallas, but I did apply it in the shade while the car was cool.

Any advice on applying Finish Kare 425 would be greatly appreciated.

I've experienced the streaking of this product on my black car as well. I usually just sit down a cry for a bit cause it's difficult to take it off my car as well. ONR diluted to QD strength usually helps remove it off my car. I've stopped using FK425 now and moved on.

Tell us more about how you applied...........

    I've NEVER had a problem with 425.

    What LSP?

    Cheers,

I have tried many quick detailers and the one that works best for me is Prima Slick and I have used it on my black mustang when the paint was warm. Also I live in El Paso as you know its a lot hotter here than in Dallas you should give it a try

Usually FK425 doesn't streak and i use it in tropical country where humidity & temp is quite high. Just use sparingly and buff 2-3 times after apply should be ok

i sometimes get a humidity haze after applying FK425.

try applying by spraying onto a MF, wipe the paint with it, and buff off with a separate MF... it has greatly reduced the issues i've experienced.

Just sprayed it on & buffed it with an MF towel. LSP is FK1000P

I would give that a try, but I just purchase 128 oz. FK425

    I'll give that a try.

Thanks to all those who took the time to respond.

What's your secret, SpecC? How do you apply yours?

Gonna try that & see what happens.

In my opinion, diluting FK425 is wasting the product, you will lose lubricity and the product properties like the anti-static one.

I apply it with a very fluffy microfiber, one side to apply and the other one to buff off. :thumb:

I only get this issue if I apply it in the sun. When I pull the car into the garage to apply it I have NEVER had a streaking issue with FK425

FYI....Did end up going right to the source about the issue & thought I would share the response I got from Finish Kare:

"Thank you for using our product. Sorry you had trouble using 425.
I know you guys are suffering thru heat in mid section of the country. Stay cool.
102 degree F is too high for any detailing. The water from the product will evaporate immediately and the active ingredient will not have a chance to spread but to quickly polymerized and bond to the surface where it landed.
Thus, next time please consider using #425 not only in shade, but where outside temp is not that bad. When it is hard to rub off due to quick drying, you might want to spray more product only in small area and work that area quickly. Thus, you will have a chance to work with the product properly.
Also, it is a good idea to let 1000P bond for a day or so before using any additional product on top.
I hope this helps you. Please do contact us if you any additional questions.
Keep me posted when you use # 425 in a cooler temp.
