My shiny new lens

So, I picked up a Nikon 80-200 2.8 push pull lens, I'm loving it so far!

Wicked lens. Is that a 2.8? What is the 70-300? I have a 55-200 already so I don't need another similar lens.

the new lens is a 2.8.
70-300 is 4.5-5.6.
Here's where Nikon gets you, 55-200 is only for crop body cameras, so you can't use it on full frame if you have plans to buy a full frame camera, 70-300 is meant for full frame, but it also works on crop bodies.

Did you consider the 70-200 F2.8 lens?

 

I sure did, but decided I don't need VR for day shots, and didn't want to spent the extra 1100 (for a used Ver.1) or extra 1800 (for a new Ver.2)
