I used to smoke during and after highschool.......... I just all of sudden one day stopped. I lost intrest.

Spending 13.00 a pack is enough money right there to make you want to quit. LOL.

best advice, and this is how my friend stopped. She drank water like a fish....... she was always drinking and it occupied her. she also bought some really expensive shoes, like $900.00 shoes and gave them to me to keep and I was not to give them to her till she stopped. took 4 monthes, but she stopped eventually because she wanted the shoes.
Also the deal was if she did not stop in 6 monthes I would burn them in front of her LOL

    everyone is different....

its an addiction and it hard to stop, you have to dig deep.

Try this method, hope it works for you as it has for me.

I would take the cigs and cut 1/3 off, as i got used to cut I would cut 2/3 off. Basically you're getting used to less and less.

Coming up on my 1 year anniversary after many many years of smoking and many failed attempts at quitting so I know what you are talking about. There is not one way that works for everyone we all have different triggers and motivators so for anyone to say do this and you will be cured is pullin your leg or wants your extra cash. I'm not speaking about anyone that has offered advice here so don't take me wrong, I'm talking about all the hypnotist, acupuncture, cleansing diets and name the multitude of other gimmicks out there.

In my experience what worked for me so far was the patch and I only used one of them. Put it on July 5 2010 and just left it on for 3 days, drink lots of water and keep yourself busy. I would suggest following the whole cessation program they have set up on the patch, use the stronger dose for so many weeks then step down and then finally to the weakest, I think each step is 6 weeks.

My mantra was "I just don't want to do it anymore" and I would say it over and over when I got the cravings and trust me there will be a lot and they can be very intense but it worked for me. For a couple of minutes it would be intense like I could squeeze grapes and push baby ducks in the water but it would pass, until the next one.

I'll tell you the one and only way that will work and it will work each and every time. When you really want to do it you will. If you really don't want to quit I don't care what you try you will fail because you will reach for a cigarette it is only a matter of time trust me on this one.

It's like every smoker will get to a point that they are motivated to quit and if they don't react to it it passes and won't come around again for a long time but they do come. If you are at that point, Jump on it, it will be hard but so more rewarding.

If you do go for it and there is anything that I can help with let me know I would be more than happy to lend a hand.

    Good luck

I'm going on my 8 years being smoke free. You can probably try EVERY method or the market but it will never work if YOU don't really want it. So you have to be sure that you want to quit.

With all the things being said about cigs nowadays, i'm not even sure why people still smoke. You pay to kill yourself. That's one crazy thought right? :)

Good luck! Put your mind right and anything is possible. Just throw you pack away in a ditch somewhere and don't look back.

Snus (not American made or you will still be subject to nitrosamines), electronic cigarettes, patches etc.

I wish you the best of luck on what is a great decision.

soak your cigarettes in vinegar, let them dry and then smoke...you will be SO SICK, you will hate tobacco!
P.S.wondering how come cigarettes in CA are not $13 a pack yet...I welcome that price...
