Small yellow dots: plants or birds?

    It's Spring and my cars are constantly getting stubborn little yellow dots on them from the sky. I was wondering if this is bird poo or comes from some kind of tree or plant? They're fairly easy to remove if you spray them and use a little fingernail action before wiping, but they won't come off with just wiping.

    They're driving me crazy.

    P.S. I live near Seattle.

    I've brought this up before.

    I don't see it in Minnesota, but when I was living in Southern California I saw it all the time.

    I believe it is pollen of some sort. However how it is speading is somewhat of a mystery.

    Some say it is pooped out by insects.

    Here is a thread on Autopia I started regarding these dots.
