Yup, seems like one need to be quick with it so it doesn't have time to really heat up and become "sticky".
I think Obsidian Black might be especially bad. You only had a hatchback though! I had a wagon! I used PO203S and PO85RD. They took forever, but it looked great in the end. Now if only my friend will replace the color... lol.
Reading the title I instantly knew the car and detailers in the body. What a way to finish an already tricky finish! Once the hurdles were passed, it sounded relatively straight forward. Did you get sun shots yet?
I have done more than a few of the new Subies and have not had any issues. I use my PC instead of my rotary and everything goes smoothly, regardless of the pads and polish.
I'm still waiting for the sun shots, lol. Client lives like 10 minutes away from him too, I think he's busy with work these days though.....
That's what we did, but the problem was not in the polishing, it was in the wipe off. Seemed like all the polishes I had had too much oil in them, so when the polish is broken down, too much oil is left. Too much oil left = I have to wipe at it harder to get rid of it, hence the marring.
Nice work! Suby paint is awful. I like the cleaner option. But I have found if the compound doesn't want to release I usually start with a spritz of IPA and that helps a lot. Sent from my DROIDX using Tapatalk
How much polish were you using? I put two slightly larger than pea sized drops on the pad and thats it. As Kilo said, I also use P203S which seems to wipe off quite easily.
The car was also sitting in the sun for about an hour fixing the flat tire, than we steam the car to remove the white spots all over the car. The body was already hot because of that. Than we machine the car using the DA. It was giving us issue. After we went to dinner, we didn't have any issue after that. I should have the sun shot by tomorrow when am off work.
