A client recently acquired this Infinity and wanted it to look great. He usually does his own stuff but knew it was beyond what he was capable of doing at this point. He didn't have a big budget but was able to leave it for as long as I needed to fit in between jobs to fill time. Turns out we needed to fill empty time slots for about a week! LOL Engine, jambs and trim cleaned with Exclusive APC and RG brushes. Foamed with Exclusive APC mixed 1:1 with water and a shot of DP Extreme Foam just for fun Washed with Exclusive Soap and RG Sheepskin Mitt Wheels cleaned with IronX Clayed with Sonus Ultrafine and Sonus Glyde clay lube All polishing was done with Flex 3403 / B&S Yellow / B&S Green / Menz Power Finish LSP was 2 coats of Werkstat Acrylic Jett Trigger Tires dressed with Exclusive Tire Dressing Exhaust polished with DG metal polish Total time - approx 20 hours As delivered. Looks awesome.....from afar! The calipers, like the wheels, hadn't been cleaned in a few years! And this was taken outside, on a cloudy day, with no flash. YIKES! Good time to see what Exclusive APC will do if it gets on glass. After drying in the sun for about 20 minutes... And washed off with nothing more than soapy water. There's no time like "SNOW TIME"! Wheels were two piece polished aluminum with raw aluminum barrels so using any type of acid to clean the build up of brake dust was out of the question. Up until this point I had used IronX to clean leftover brake dust off wheels, but not to actually clean the entire wheel. Worked like a charm! Bloody barrels! Exclusive APC and IronX teaming up Looks like the body shop forgot to tape off the entire rear of the car. Holy overspray Batman! Waxed in direct sunlight? Holograms were on almost every panel Scuffs instead of holo's on this panel - Yippee! Little overspray on the fuel filler door After hitting the barrels with IronX and some 0000 steel wool, the barrels were looking really nice. Bird poopage A few 50/50s. Car was polished with B&S yellow on my Flex 3403 and Menz Power Finish followed up with Power Finish on a green B&S. Not sure what happened here. Tail lights even got into the action with some overspray Even more overspray - maybe the car is supposed to be two tone, gloss and satin! After a few days of polishing and two coats of Werkstat Acrylic Jett Trigger. Thanks for looking.
Incredible work Ken! I'm looking forward to using your APC, loving the CWC cleaner and Iron X too. -Kody-
Ken, That is beautiful work on black !! Looks like when I used to paint them with the last coat of clear as wet as you could get away with. Thanks for sharing the excellent pics and write up. Dan F
Looks amazing Ken, hell of a job. I was starting to wonder about you Canadians but you give me faith. I tried the Power Finish/BS Green combo on my truck (just the hood and some spot trail rash) and it seemed a tiny bit grabby. Maybe it was the fact that I was outside, but is there any special prepping of the pad you do before adding polish?
Lose faith in us Canadians, a few Canucks will hold it down. Ken, I need a picture shooting course with you someday. I love black infiniti paint, especially when it is polsihed to the max.
totally insane work ken. please let me know when you're exclusive line is released. i want some more of the APC among other things i need from you.
Nope. I never prime my pads. I put two pea sized drops on the pad, spread it around the area I'm going to work ( I do this with PC AND rotary ) and your off to the races.
Amazing work Ken what a turn around it! I want to try out some of your Exclusive APC let me know when you get it on your site
