Well finally pulled the trigger to have a website done! I hired kyoshiro to do it and its been a breeze. Were still early in the design but please let me know what you think bout the website! Street Dreams MD :thumb:
Unlike most ”auto detailers” I don’t do this for a living, which leads to very inflated prices. You’ll find that I charge up to 50% LESS then my competitors while preforming superior detailing services. I am located in Southern Maryland about 30 minutes south of Washington D.C. so I happily service the greater DC, MD and NoVA Area. It is my passion to make your vehicle look better then when it rolled off the show room floor. Many ”detailers” will use cheap over the counter products or buy generic products in bulk to save money. Here at Street Dreams I only use the very best professional products available. From Chemical Guys, Adam’s, Zymol and Swissvax (to name just a few!)****either insert *so* or insert *period* and then capitalize *Y* in you***** you know your vehicle will be getting the very best it can from start to finish. I spend countless hours researching and testing out the newest car care products to make sure that my customers will always receive the very best. If you not 110% completely satisfied with the finish of your car I will refund 100% of the price guaranteed!
Yes, I have quite a few spelling mistakes! Going to be going through in a little bit and correcting them all, the website should be 100% done by next week hopefully. irontree- Huntingtown, Calvert county
That is a pretty nice web site. Not sure if you have been around here for a while. I will offer my 2 cents even though you did not ask for it. I would tell you that I would suggest you consider changing your name. There is a regular poster here by the name of Street Dreams. One of the best detailers in this industry. You will be confusing your customer base by having name on your online site. David from Street Dreams is a gentleman and one of the most professional and capable detailers in the USA. If I were you I would change the name on your site. Secondly, I would not post your address or some guys that do this for a living might pay you a visit. I am so happy you are going to use top teir products on my car, and since you dont do this for a living, I hope your insured so that if you mess up my $187,000 car you may have some way to repair/replace for me. Right? If you sell on pice you die on price. There will be some kid with his mothers dish rag beating your price at some point. Sell Value- that is a far price for what you get (as the customer). Only the customer can tel you if it is a good value. You cant tell them. I don't want 50% off a shoddy job. Most people don't get a detailer off the web. They get them from people they know who have had positive experiences. Create positive experiences for your cusotmers and they will be your best adversising. Good Luck and i hope you consider it. It is just the right thing to do.
"Unlike most ”auto detailers” I don’t do this for a living, which leads to very inflated prices" I do not do this for a living either, but If I did this statement could be offensive. Prices are reflected by everything from overhead to product inventory, years of experience, knowledge and ability, just because someone does it for a living does not directly lead to inflated price. I am not trying to be a jerk, but its a blanket statement and I recommend changing it. or omitting it. I also agree with JSFM, I would change your name as well. Its a great site none the less and you have skills. No doubt about it.
I agree...and I do this for a living. Also how many times do you hear people say, "I do this on the side so I will charge higher prices b/c I don't want to spending my free time working for so little." I just dont think that the sentence is needed to sell your services to the customer. I don't think most would care either way if you do it for a living or not, as long as you do a good job and they are happy paying whatever prices you charge (higher or lower).
I don't believe Chris has any I'll intentions to the statement as he has been a very good client to work with. From photos I've been given to work with, I know he takes pride in his work.
I don't think its intentional, and nobody is accusing him of such, these are basic suggestions from people that have made based on observations. No harm no foul
Just saying before something goes bad lol But yeah im at fault for not putting suggestions like these first hand. And I do have similar thing on my own site which has a comp sci vs designer thing but man no one wants to look at it prob cuz its not a derailin site lol I feel unloved Any how end of my rant and do put forward design comments as I benefit from those as well
its in the other thread that i started in this section with 0 posts or you can click my name at the bottom of chris's site and you'll get there my ninja footer lol
wow 3 step paint correction for $300 ? should be $500 there no offense, but I think you should choose a different name for your company. if you take pride of your work, you should have pride on your own company name. if you didn't know, Dave DSMS is the owner Street Dreams detail and also has slogan " prem auto care ". Like I siad, I mean no offense. but I think its the right thing to do
Never meant to offend full time detailers, i was referring to the 'wanna be' detailers who use dawn soap for washing and any wax under $10 from autozoe and call that a $100 ''detail'' we have plenty of those here. But i'll probably re word that anyways... As far as the name change goes, I came up with that on my own about 3 years ago, long before I had heard of Dave or this forum. I have a great client base and to change the business name now would be much to confusing for customers, and I don't think anyone will get us mixed up (and if they do i will glad refer them to him!), seeing as he works on the cars I dream to do, and I work on people daily driver mostly, with the occasional exotic. But most of the business names tend to get repeated from state to state and I have seen many from this board used elsewhere, including Street Dreams. If it becomes a problem I will change it, but as of yet theres been none. The prices are exactly where I think they should be, I tired advertising higher prices, and got VERY little response, dropped the prices a few hundred dollars and have quite a lot of interest. As I said I don't do many expensive exotics so charging $800 is out of the question, people are weary about paying $200-$300 for a detail as is!!! As far as the insurance question goes, yes I do have insurance and I am BBB registered. I'll be putting that up as well. Haven't released the website to the public yet, just wanted some experts to take a look at it first so thanks for the tips!
Website looks good, and I know it's been said before, but there are many spelling and grammatical errors scattered throughout. It may seem nit-picky but it can turn some people off. Aside from that, the layout looks great.
Oh I know! Ha I haven't released it to the public yet just you guys. Really gotta finish up and fix my spelling!
"i was referring to the 'wanna be' detailers who use dawn soap for washing and any wax under $10 from autozoe and call that a $100 ''detail'' we have plenty of those here. " Honestly, you could actually state that in your site, its a very good representation of what type of work many of us are up against,as for your prices you charge what the market will bear. I think your prices are legit, and reflect the time you put into it....
