Can anyone recommend a steamer that can be used on the interior of the car? Especially the the part that gets scuffed by shoes and all the dirt gets built up! Do you need to spray an all purpose cleaner on the interior first? And where can I buy one. This is especially bad on my Stepdaughter's Nissan Ultima Coupe! I don't really know if I van get it to almost new car condition
VX 5000 has been a log time favorite among detailers. Costs about $700. Dupray is also a new machine that has received lots of attention. If you do a search here you'll find some threads about it. They're a forum sponsor and if I'm not mistaken they might also a small discount to forum members. There are a lot of different machines to match your detailing and budget needs. Some people have said that they've gotten good results from using machines priced around $100, which they picked up at their local HD or Lowe's. Again, the search feature is your friend and I'm sure you'll find tons of great information. Also, Google steam cleaners and you'll see many different sites that offer commercial steamers for sale.

This is the unit I use. Mine is 2 years old and is working great. I had an issue with the vacuum losing its suction and I called the company. They spent 1/2 hour on the phone helping me trouble shoot. It is working fine now. I have read complaints about their CS, but that has never been an issue with me. The machine is powerful, does all 3 things (steam, extract, vacuum) and is very versatile. I used it for hours and hours a week ago stripping wallpaper. I highly recommend it. Several people have bought it on my recommendation and nobody has been disappointed yet. Once you get using steam, you will never clean with anything again. I use a small,cheap one to clean the bathrooms in my house.
dont bother with the yellow mcculloch or whatever its pretty useless. wish i could get rid of mine. my dupray hill injection is the exact same size but insanely powerful. does cost roughly $2400 more though lol :yikes: steamers are great, but i think one with a built in vacuum/extractor would be optimal.
The vapor clean Gaia that Richy has is about $700. The cheapest all in one steamer/vacuum/extractor. next would be Dupray's Carmen super inox, which costs around $5000 and you need a 240v outlet. Cheaper version of Dupray is Daimer.
That same company makes the Desiderio. Desiderio It also does all 3 functions, but is almost twice as much as the Gaia and the specs are not that much different.
VX5000. Great reliable unit that has a reasonable price point. Heard too many varied experiences with the Desiderio/Gaia dual steamer/extractor combo's.
Have you ever tried your dupray hill injection machine to wash the exterior? Since I have an extractor I don't need an all-in-one steamer with extraction, so the machine you use looks tempting. I don't want to buy the least expensive and find out it won't do the job, but don't want to spend $2500 and find that out either. I'm also looking at the Daimer Super Max 6120SCW for exterior and then maybe a vx5000 or VC 4000C for door jambs and interior steaming. I like the injection feature with the dupray but don't know if it would be sufficient for exterior though.
Yeah, I'm looking at both of these companies. Seems they're getting their machines from the same manufacturer, but each company has selected different machines to sell from what I've been told. Daimer doesn't have a comparable to the Hill Injection model at Dupray, but I really like Daimer's steam pressure washers.
For doing car floor mats, which steamer or extractor would leave the carpets the driest? Is there much of a difference between the various models of steamers and extractors?
