with some new tech gear coming to light, sounds like they may have honestly had no idea what was going on, and if they did they probably had no clue where too really look. Looks like either the 160th SOAR or the the Navy is using some new sort of "stealth hawk" as people are calling it but due to the craft being grey it was most likely Navy, but JSOC probably has them in all their SO teams; so who really knows what Pakistan saw or knew, and really when it comes down too it it really does not matter. As for them making warnings etc, they are still a Muslim nation and they need to project they image they are against what is going on, but on the back side they take billions in aide, military supplies and political protection from us.


Pakistan, is a huge buyer of arms from the US as well as a source of cheap labor for many manufacturing companies like Mattel, They are pissing and moaning over the Global hawk missions as well, IMO, again its to project to the Muslim world they are trying to stand up to the US, but really have done nothing about it other then some speeches. they know if they push it too hard the money and aide could go away.....

Billy is right, they were TOLD that if Bin Laden was to be infact found in Pakistan, they would go and "get him" and Pakistan knew this from day one, whether or not they new actual details of the mission who knows, but its coming to public light more and more that they are "double dealing" as former Sec. Rice was saying.

 

Pakistan had to come out with that statement in the media to show everyone that they will not be invaded and give the illusion that they didn't know what was going on, behind the scenes I'm sure it's a very different story one that I'm sure nobody on this forum will ever know for certain.

In my opinon...if Obama and his cronies can't take the blame for the way the economy is (i.e. blaming Bush for the way things are) then he surely can't take the credit for this feat.

James Carney said the other day, basically the president knows gas prices are high, and its effecting families, but offered no idea of even if the president plans to dig into the issue. 300 fellow Americans were killed last week in tornadoes, many more are loosing their homes to flooding and I really have not heard a plan of action....... It did drop 10.00 per barrel yesterday, so we shall see if it keeps trending lower, people are driving less so that may be a factor, hard to say.

I know he is super busy zipping around in Air Force One to important summits in South America etc, but really? It is high time the Government as a whole starts focusing on domestic issues, domestic programs; after all is it not OUR money they are spending? I guess that is what makes me made the most, the amount of money my wife and I pay in taxes and the amount I see being dished out to foreign aide, welfare, and other entitlement programs. BUT BUT BUT its ok, they will just keep printing money, and as Biden puts it "yes, we need to spend more money to stimulate the economy" (crock of shit if you ask me) It is time to scale back spending in all programs, and spend on tangible programs that creates jobs, improves our infer-structure, etc. etc instead of trying to quell every riot and unstable region in the world. Yes, we are a super power and with that comes great responsibility to the rest of the world, I get that, but we need to pick and choose our battles. Its like someone who makes 8.00 an hour but lives at home sponging off mommy and daddy but drives a BMW m3, how sustainable is it and how logical is it........... As much as I was a bit against what you were saying at first Bob, I understand where you are coming from now. Most people don't know what's happening in the background and they're only source of news is trash-talking CNN and others.

Also, as a canadian, i'm very proud that he was caught and justice was served to our american brothers/sisters but when everyone was chanting and being very happy near the white house, it reminded me of some middle-east people being happy when the 2 planes crashed in the WTC. It is common for people to ignore the flaws of ones they like and only speak negatively of one the ones dislike, It is human nature.

It is funny how moderate Muslim people never speak out against "Radical Muslim Ideaology"?, people (Muslim nations) cheered like the superbowl/world series/world cup on 9/11/2001 and there was a plethora of newscasts to prove it.

As a whole you would find it hard to Americans rejoicing in the slaughter of anyone(Americans do get wrapped up in thier lives sometimes myself included) but do not find happiness in others suffering, because if we do why is it that the amount of charity is the highest of any country? I Mean in reality people here do not have to give a "Red cent" to help anyone.

Another example, take the Pearl Harbor attack which targeted MILITARY person(s) and the world was agast in thier reaction........but we celebrate the killing of a man who everyone KNOWS is evil(Just because you have a relegious bent means nothing ie: David Koresh in Waco and Jim Jones who were CHRISTIAN based and not muslim btw) and Americans celebrate the promise kept by George Bush 2 that America would serve justice and we did.

I am at a loss on how this event is viewed the way it is by people in other countries(Can understand I am way BIAS on this though)as you have clear and present danger demonstrated that anyone with eyes and ears plus of course common sense could see "What is what".

All I have to say is this thread is becoming very offensive to Muslims... I see a lot of negativity towards them, and the radical people in some areas might have cheered, but as a whole they did not. They are normal people. Their scripture is written similarly, and can be interpreted in different ways (like any religion), it does not tell them to be extremist or to terrorize others. I have Muslim friends and they and their families are no different. I for one don't judge others.

 

I can understand how you feel, lumping in the bad apples in the bushel thing.......however I do not know of any American Bapists going to the middle east and killing/and or blowing up people.

As for cheering, news crews did not film "Just the bad muslims" and you might want to log onto "Al jazzera" sometime and watch..........for hours not minutes and tell me what you think, as these guys would kill any westerner Canadian or otherwise.
