Back Behind a Rotary - For My Volvo S60

It has been a while since I last used a rotary polisher in anger, but with my car looking a bit sorry for itself, I decided to spend the week of good weather tinkering away small bit at a time to get it looking back in shape again :) No fancy products used really, just what I cobbled together out of my old detailing collection and put to use to brighten up my old Volvo :) No big writeup, just a wee summary and some after pics :)

Washed the car (Meguiars Shampoo Plus) before every polishing session. Working a couple of panels at a time, I clayed the car with Meguiars Aggressive Clay and Last Touch as a lube (two years since its last clay), and then polished the car by rotary polisher (Menzerna PO85RD3.02 Intensive Polish on a white CleanYourCar pad, followed by Menzerna PO85RD Final Finish on a blue 3M pad). Didn't aim for perfection in terms of every mark removed - the car has some deeper scratches, but its also 130,000 miles old so that as far as I am concerned is par for the course - just restore the gloss and bring life back to the paint without ripping too much of it off was the aim :) After polishing, clease with Lusso Revitalising Cream and protect with Zymol Glasur wax. Tyres with Turtle Wax Extreme, glass with Zaino Clear Glass, plastics with a long forgotten product: Meguiars #38, found at the back of a cupboard :D That's pretty much it, didn't bother polishing the exhaust, need to buy some metal polish and the sills are road rashed to hell as is the front bumper - but hey, for 130k miles (both here and in France), I don't think she looks too bad...

Also been pottering away with the interior too, perhaps put some pics of that up when I've finished pottering :)

Great work Dave, Volvo is looking top. I would take the stickers off the back bumper though...

I would, but then I just need to put them back on again when the car goes back across to France, so I just leave them :)
