Hi everyone, I have tried a variety of LSP combos over the past several years and have like some more than others. I tend to continue to try new combos even when I find something I like for fun. At the moment, I find that Collinite 845 topped with Aquawax after each wash has been great on my white M3 and has been the best for durability and gloss that I have tried so far. For me, durability and ease of cleaning (i.e. less dirt sticking) are my priorities. I am now thinking of trying one of the following options and would appreciate opinions. Option #1: CQuartz as a base Reload as a bi-monthly top coat FK425 or Aquawax as a weekly wipedown after wash Option #2: CQuartz as a base Collinite 845 as a top coat Reload as a bi-monthly top up FK425 or Aquawax as a weekly wipedown after wash Option #2 may be overkill but my thought was it would provide insane durability. Option #1 seems like a good option as Reload seems easy to apply and would provide a good top coat for the CQuartz. Anyway, I would appreciate your thoughts and any suggested modifications.
durability is only as good as the thing underneath and at like the 3rd layer, it becomes thinner and thinner. i would go with Cquartz + reload top ups and skip fk425 and aquawax all together.
That makes sense... would topping ReLoad with FK425 or AW be problematic? I ask because I like the anti-static properties of FK425 in particular. If it will be problematic as an after wash wipedown, then I won't use it. If it's OK, I might do it for the extra after wash shine and anti-static effect.
why not test durability and dirt release properties of Cquartz? I have a coat of it on my daily driver, and have done 1 wash and am impressed with it so far. I really like how it releases dirt, unlike most carnauba waxes/sealant tend to hold it a bit...
I use Reload after every wash which is always once a week and the paint never loses its slick feeling, ease of cleaning, or the amazing beading that the Cquartz/Reload combination provides. It is excessive though, I will admit, and have used V7/AW successfully as a topper for Cquartz however they do not compliment Cquartz as well as Reload. Honestly, Reload is the only spray sealant I have ever used that feels as if it can actually function as a standalone LSP.
I have Cquartz on my mustang gt right now it works great at releasing dust and light dirt from driving during the week. I just got Reload in this weekend from Phil so I have yet to try it out. I did use some Prima Slick on it yesterday. I have to say its my favorite quick detailer yet and leaves the finish looking great. I am going to wash it maybe tomorrow and top it with Reload and see how it comes out. Back on topic I would stick to option # 1 just get some detail spray that you like and use that as a drying aid I would use DG AW, Prima Slick or CG V7 on it Also if your going to get Cquartz and Reload get them from Phil he is having a sale on Carpro products right now.
If you're going to wash every week and top up with AW there is no point in any base coat. AW easily last a month and if you're topping every week it will never wear down.
