Detailing Bliss Detail of the Month Rules The purpose of this Monthly Detail Competition is for members to show off their detailing skills. The competition is open to all Detailing Bliss members (subject to rules below). Rules, Guidelines, and Restrictions: 1. Professional detailers, DB Certified Dealers and DB Representatives are not allowed to enter. A professional detailer is a person who earns his living from detailing (more than 40% of your income). Warning: By entering this competition you are acknowledging that you’re a ‘weekend warrior’ and if proven otherwise you will be disqualified and be banned from entering any future competitions/contests here at Detailing Bliss. 2. A full write up identifying what products/process was utilized must be entered along with pictures. All pictures must be entered during the entry post, you will not be allowed to edit your post and add pictures at a later date. All sections that you have detailed must be entered (tires, rims, wheel wells, interior, exterior, etc.). Before and after pictures are a must and if at all possible at the same angle and lighting. Entries should have a minimum of 1 - 50/50 shot to show before and after. You don’t have to be a professional photographer to enter but it would help if you try to keep the pictures focused and as sharp as possible. Note: “no editing of the pictures”; this means that you cannot use programs to alter/edit an image. Adding a border, or feather the edges is one thing but adjusting the contrast to improve the image is not allowed (if you are unclear as to what I’m referring to please feel free to ask a Mod or DB Boss). 3. You may enter once per month, multiple entries will not be permitted and will be deleted. You can use any write up you have, however you will not be able to enter a write up more than once. (whether you win or not) 4. Winners from the previous months must wait 3 months before they may compete again. Example, if you are the winner for the month of January you may not enter again until April. 5. If you enter the competition and fail to follow these rules you will be disqualified and may potentially be banned from entering the competition again. 6. All entries must be entered by the end of each month. (eg: last day of Jan will be the entry for Feb) 7. Each entry must include the month and year (example: 2007 Subaru Legacy - January 2009 Entry) on the title of the thread. 8. Who will do the voting – You the member will VOTE of course Voting will be done by poll and the winner will be the one with the most votes. The poll will start after all entries are in. The poll will end the last day of each month. A winner will be officially announced the 1st week of each month. (members can vote only once so make it count) Prizes will come from your DB Vendors and DB Manufacturers
so am i still banned from competing or no? long story short, i work at a dealership full time as a detailer, but the work i post on here has nothing to do with my full time job. i entered and won the contest before, and someone decided to make a stink about it, and then carlos decided i was to be considered a professional detailer. thoughts?
We will bring it up with the Mods and Roger. However if your getting paid to detail at a dealer and it is over 40% of your income it seems pretty clear.
