Hello, I am new here and looking for some suggestions to do some mild paint correction and protection on my low mileage garage kept 08 black BMW. The paint on this car is pretty good, just looking to make it look excellent. What I have now are some older Menzerna products: (I'm still using FMJ), intensive polish, finishing touch glaze, final finish? II. I usually top it with P21S 100% Carnuaba. I own a Porter Cable and some standard LC pads. Basically, what I'm looking to do is try some new products that will make this black paint look great. I just got the car and used the listed products on my previous 03 silver BMW with good results. But I'm no expert. I really would like to stick with one brand for polish, glaze, and sealant. The products I've been considering are Wolfgang or Blackfire. As these guys both claim to work well with a Porter Cable. Im also considering sticking with Menzerna and getting the Power Lock sealant. However, if I go this route I need recommendation for a polish and fine polish +/- a glaze. There choices are overwhelming for the non pro who just wants to make a really good car look great. Also, I get the idea that the Menzerna stuff is more geared towards a rotary device, which I am not interested in using. I've also considered Chemical Guys, but they have a ton of choices also (if I recall) - and each product seems to say it's 'the best'. Would the Blackfire or Wolfgang stuff with a PC be good for me? Maybe Pinacle? Is P21S 100% a good wax over a sealant for a black BMW? Thanks in advance.

You can get great results with the Menzerna and a PC. I would suggest IP or Powerfinish on a polishing pad then final finish or 85RD on a finishing pad. Then two coats of Power lock and the paint will look new.

We bimmer owners refer to it as BSM ..... Black Sapphire Metallic.

Typically, I use Menzerna Power Finish. Rarely is there ever a reason to follow up with the 85RD unless you have some heavy compounding to do. You can use a number of different pads depending on the amount of cut you want from the PF such as the LC green, white, orange or yellow pads. The paint is a bit more resilient than the Jet Black so it may take a little more to remove scratches if that is your focus. I work on many BSM cars and own a JB car so I know what to expect with regard to pads/polish/technique to use for specific results.

The pics below are all showing the results of Menzerna Power Finish along with Jetseal 109. They were taken during the past year and as times change I am now using a different sealant the majority of the time.

The 2000 528i had the most dramatic improvement as I had gone over it twice with the Power Finish as per the customer's request. Customer didn't want the heavy compounding.

Thanks for everyone's input! I was on the fence between Menzerna and Wolfgang products. I decided to go with the Wolfgang Swirl Remover + the Wolgang glaze. For a sealer, I decided to go with Menzerna Power Lock - all with LCC 7.5" CCS pads. Mainly, I went with this combo because these items were on sale, and I couldn't find any reason to pick something else over them. I think I got a great deal, but they are It's all coming in the mail from Autogeek. I plan to apply with my Porter Cable and possibly top it with P21S Pure Carnuaba. I think these items will give me a good result. I do already have some Menzerna polishes, but I have been looking at there chart and they have too many choice for a non-pro. I think I am better off with polishes more designed for the regular guy at home.
