    Thanks.
Nikon D7000 was used with Tokina 16-50mm f/2.8 lens.
Some of them were also taken with Nikon 35mm f/1.8

Pretty good :) I would also recommend you to get the 50mm 1.4G - a friend of mine has it and is also shooting a crop Nikon, I've borrowed it a few times and it's very good on his D90.

    Kind regards,

    I was going to, but a friend who's a pro recommended 85mm 1.8 instead.
He said the 50 is kind of redundant since I already have a 35 and don't have a mid-telephoto prime/zoom.
    So now I have Tokina 16-50 2.8, Nikon 35 1.8G, and Nikon 85 1.8D
I'm looking to sell the 16-50 for a tokina 28-70 2.8 with the Angenieux optical formula (Pro V.1 basically.)

    - Okay, the 50 1.4G which - as you probably know already - has a 75mm field of view on your crop censor, would give you a 'classic portrait lens'.
The 85 1.8 is getting good reviews too and it gives a good range, haven't tried it though - but I've actually just ordered the "new" AF-S 85 1.4G.

After trying a few Tokinas I really can't recommend them. When I used Canon I had a 17-55mm 2.8IS, a very useful lens on a crop. I think Nikon make one too.

    Kind regards,

Oh I know, crop body = 1.5x crop factor.
I'd have to say, the 85 1.8 produced a much more beautiful bokeh than the 50 1.8 I tried out in store.
Besides, fiancee paid (as my birthday gift).
Here's the test shot from camera store (85mm 1.8)

And The Tokina 50-135 (I think) has been getting great reviews, same with tokina 11-16.
I can't exactly say the same for my 16-50, it is a bit soft wide open in the center for me, which is why I want to get the tokina 28-70 with the Angenieux optical formula. Supposedly that specific version produced images that rival Nikon's own 28-70. I found one for sale in Austria for 500 shipped.
    There's a short review here:
    NIKON GLASS: Tokina AT-X Pro 28-70mm f/2.6-2.8
The one I'm looking at is the Pro.I version

Looks good, lovely OOF rendering, the extra range over the 50 is also - ofcourse - contributing to this. It's a great birthday gift:)

I've used the 11-16 on a Canon 7D, found it too soft, corners were really bad.

    Kind regards,

Really? I'm surprised to hear that, haven't heard of any complains about Tokina 11-16 on Nikon.
Could have been a bad copy, Tokina's QC isn't on par with oem manufacturers.

Either way, I took these this past weekend with my Tokina 16-50 2.8

Great photos, reminds me that I need to start uploading photos to Flickr again.. I've had my D700 for some time now and I've only managed to upload 1 random test shot so far. That's not very good. :)

    Kind regards,

Out of 33 photos today, this turned out to be my favorite.

Sigh, I could really use a macro lens.
