Recently completed, this modified Alpine White M3 needed some correction to look it's best. Love the HRE P40S wheels and other subtle mods done to the car. After wash/clay steps were carried out, the paint correction steps were started. The white finish was difficult to capture some of the defects, thus some pics were taken with different settings on my camera. 50/50 pics of the trunk area. Marring on drivers door. Wool pad compounding step. Marring & RIDS on passenger side door. After compounding. Finish after using Meguiars new DA compound. As the owner has completed a few open track days the lower parts of the car needed some attention. After clean up. Finish after polishing. "B" pillars with the usual marring & RIDS. Defects removed. Getting into the tight areas with the DA Polisher.
After the paint correction task was completed, I next moved on to the engine bay. After clean up before final dressing applied. Finished engine pics. Next step was to dismount the wheels for cleaning, while I was at it I re-indexed the center caps to line up with the valve stem cover(small details...). Center cap lined up. Dirty wheels. Cleaned and sealed. Wheel wells needed some attention.
Clean before dressing application. Before. After. Passengerside wheel well before. After. Finished wheel well, dressed for a satin not greasy look. Akrapovic tightness......... Cleaning all door jamb areas. Before. After. On the home stretch.... As there is "Pilot Cup Sports" on the car, tires were dressed to a low matte finish. Cleaning edge of the glass(Pet peeve of mine and required step in my shop). Cleaned.
Interior was pretty clean, general wipedown and matte dressing applied. Mats were steamed as well. Subtle styling mod....Black "Kidney grill". A few sun pics.
Well as I was fortunate enough to be part of the test group I have had the gear in my hands for a while, this allowed me to really test it on different car paints and with thier microfiber pads which work great as intended, but also with foam pads which also work well. I am sure Phil will add this like he did M105, so you will be shorting yourself not to have some in your paint correction arsenal.......it just works.
Titanium tightness......and big dollars, saw thier display @ SEMA this year and well I was on board, if I ever get another Wheel & Tire/suspension shop together I will carry this product.
looks amazing bob. that is one sexy family sedan. the black residue under the side skirts...was that tar or tire rubber? if rubber, how did you go about removing it safely?
Nice job, What kind of sealant did you use on those flat black wheels, It looks like it didnt affect the finish too much by making it shiny, I was wondering what I can use on m yown without affecting the matte finish.
Nice detail. What product did you use to seal the wheels? Are the wheels flat(clear coated)? Sorry, same question as above......read ahead, I know. :-/
Nice job!! car looks awesome!! Love the detail of turning the center caps to align with the valve cap =)
looks great that white really pops. im the same way on the windows of customers cars. i cant stand them to be dirty around the edges.
That new Meg's compound really seemed to do the trick on white. Have you been able to finish down to an acceptable level on a black car? Car looks great, high five for cleaning the tops of the windows (pet peeve of mine too).
