So today I had to do an interior detail with a clay and wax. I finally got to play around with the bottle of Iron X, JESUS CHRIST THIS SH*T SMELLS HORRIBLE!!!!! Okay so you couldn't see the product working as the color of the car was dark but you can see it on the ground. Worked pretty well, and for any one asking if it takes place of claying.....hell no. This car needed claying badly and apparently needed Iron X badly too. I only took a few pics with my iphone of the product working. The entire car is sprayed down with IX, here you can see it running down onto the ground. After I did the IX thing I rinsed it all down again, there was no beading what so ever at this point. I foamed the car and proceeded to clay, this is just from the top of the trunk. Once again, you still need to clay after you use Iron X Waxed and done All in all, I'm pleased with the product. I only have a little less than half of the bottle left. On a 4 door or an SUV I can see you using an entire bottle of this stuff, maybe they can start selling in gallons
yup I would agree with what you said. This smells horrible, but works great. I did 2 cars with 1 bottle. I need to bring in the larger bottles. It definitely strips everything down, but like the instructions state you still need to clay. thanks for the review!
It will all depend on the vehicle you are working on. I have done a couple of cars now with IronX where further claying was not necessary, but as the BMW in the is post proved, at times you will still have to.
Gotta get some Iron X from Chris, I have Wolf's "Brake Duster" (have not tried yet, cold out) that can be used on paint as well. It smells like rotten eggs. lol
Phil which would you suggest using Iron X or Iron X Soap gel to prep the surface for Cquartz. I wanted to know because as you know I am still waiting on my giftcard to get its funds back on it from the attempted purchase the other day (wish Visa would have a note in the cards packaging or on it stating it need to registered before online use). Anyways once the funds are back on the card I will be placing the order again for Cquartz and I wanted to see what you recommend using. Also I know Iron X Soap gel can be used to maintain Cquartz. Can regular Iron X be used to remove contaminates from a vehicle with Cquartz already applied to it. And can you clay Cquartz with a fine grade clay to remove contaminates from it, say after half a year from the application date to clean the coating before applying Reload to the panels or will this damage the coating?
