That is crazy... K why don't you just ship the goods to the us border. Quick drive across and you will save a ton of dough. Sometimes I'm not even charged the HST when i declare a $100.00 of car soap and some rags (AKA microfibre !
guys. wana know something? pick shipping to business, and its cheaper. ordered from CG, said my house address is business address and shipping went from 12 something to 8 something and they delived it without any questions
I'm still trying to get over the grammar on their website. I never really noticed until about a week ago. :yikes: The last few things I've ordered from them were just OK, and its sooooo far from me (California to NJ), it takes too long to get here. (I'm a little impatient) I'm sorry about the $, but I hope the towels are nice! lol
They are great towels and at least you know now. This is the crap that the resellers have to deal with all the time. Some the worst is on the MF's due to the country of origin, I'm planning to try a larger bulk order and pass on what I can to make it better for the Canadians. Maybe someday the shipping companies will setup a flat rate into Canada and reslove some of this. Damn it would be nice if Canada Post woul do a flat rate within Canada like the US has, that would also help a bunch. In the meantime enjoy the towels, they are awesome!
i ordered stuff on thursday i think and got it wednesday, was just regular ground fedex shipping. love their gold 16x16 MF towels. have yet to be disappointed in anything i ordered but i ordered stuff that ppl tried and recommended. gona see about this spray able leather stuff thought dont notice grammar since im not great in it, but then again its hard to if English is not the first or second language
Misha, Your grammar has been better on this forum than what is used on their website. (I am in awe of people who can speak more than 1 language fluently). I don't really pay attention to bad grammar in most cases, but when your running a business, you have to step it up a little.
Yeah oldcracker says he'll bring me down to Point Roberts and check out the pick up place and make use of the "Reasonably Priced Cars" to go across the borders to ensure we dont get searched lol Its not an amount I can't swallow but its just annoying that the 50bucks was not inclusive of duties/taxes lol. Drive a truck down and come back with boxes! but man I cant see how you deal with all the pallets you get via fedex, must be so annoying with their sneak attack invoice. In conclusion, if you're in Canada dont order from CG, order from our locals. If you're in US, just carry on as usual. USPS > Fedex + UPS and... I dont notice grammar problems on the CG site but I only ever read the product name and look at pictures LOL
:shakehead: Seriously dishonorable of CG to bait and switch you on the shipping price. I know they make some very good products but this is another nail in the coffin for them. Along with the poor grammar and vague descriptions and overblown product specs, I really don't like to deal with them unless I absolutely have to. Sorry to hear you got abused Aldric!
ok so I just paid it since its not a lot because they said there is nothing they can do about it and I didnt want to waste my time over it. However I did find out that Fedex ground indeed ships up to Canada and CG once again has proven that they lied to me on the order that they couldnt do the 19.99 shipping via fedex ground to me. I will be calling them up and talking to them.
Wow.. how dumb. Sure makes them look/sound bad. Sorry to hear about your troubles with them. Are you gonna stay away from ordering direct from CG from now on? And was that your first time ordering direct?
Yes it was my first time ordering direct from CG but yeah gonna stay away unless im ordering to the borders (which will not incur this amount of headaches)
Hey K, I use point to point parcel at point roberts before, they are pretty good. Point to Point Parcel - a complete range of package receiving and shipping services. They are located 1 minute by the border. I always pay taxes because all my orders were way over $100. Always have the receipt to proof the product price.
I agree, I would stick to locals Troy, Ken, Chris for most of my cg needs. They carry a good selection and more than what I need for the most part, minus the towels. I myself love collecting towels and cg has good value on their towels, so unless one has friends that visit often from the states, then shipping to Point Roberts is still a pretty viable option. At most they charge you HST, I've never been charged extra duties. I've been down there a few times, was searched the first time when I went with a group of friends and only picked up one thing. Friend did not bring a receipt, group of friends, guess they had the right to feel fishy. It wasn't very busy that day. Every other time I've gone back I show them my invoice and they don't seem to ask too much. Sounds like CG really did you in and I would think they probably won't care for you given you are a customer unlikely to come back since your in Canada lol. Jokes on them, I'm already thinking about not picking up more of their towels.
