In for 'for sale' preparation was a 2004 Honda Accord EX with 85k miles. It had been sitting outside in the Oregon weather under pine trees for the last 1.5 years. Before that, it had been driven hard in southern California. This car was in a bad way when it showed up. I found everything from sand grains and coffee stains inside to pitch, mold and oxidized paint outside. The exterior was cleaned starting with the wheels, arches and tight areas of the car first. Various degreasers, soaps and brushes were used for this. Car was foamed and washed multiple times to remove the deeply ingrained dirt. Paint was treated to IronX and clay decontamination and finished with a 2-stage polish and Collinite 845. Major water-spotting was polished out of the glass as well. Interior was given a light dusting and vacuum followed by major stain extraction with my new Mighty Pro Rug Doctor (my review) and deep leather clean/condition. Glass was cleaned as well. Also, the headlights were beat to hell and back and the customer wanted them refurbed. After removing them from the vehicle, they were wet-sanded, compounded, polished out and sealed with 845. Exterior Work Lines of dirt runoff that have actually worked into the single-stage paint. Years of improper care for the car have left the paint worn out, oxidized and embedded with grime. Dull and lifeless paint Onto the wheels, Sonax was left to dwell and then agitated with a brush. Tires and arches were scrubbed After Worked the tight areas of the car next: jambs, seals, gas door etc. Before After Before After Before After Foamage IronX doing its thing Inside, ready for polishing.
