Hi there, I have a bit of money burning a hole in my pocket and I am looking to buy another wax. I currently have the following (In order of "not-so-good" to "best" wax) -Turtle Wax Hard Shell Wax (I use this for wheels until I receive my Smartwax Rim Wax, I also use it for my wifes Chevy CACAlier) -ClearKote Carnuba Moose Wax -Meguiars Gold Class Paste Wax -Collinite 845 -Black Fire Wet Diamond (yes, I know it's a sealant) -AutoGlym High Definition Wax -Swissvax Zuffenhausen/Mirage/Saphire (Have not ordered yet, still deciding which one I want) I'm looking to get another "all-around" wax to go between my AG HD and SV. I was thinking the Ioncoat Naviwax (Dark), but I don't like the fact that it's not available "locally"(North America). I'm looking to spend maybe $60-$80 shipped if possible. Shoot me some suggestions with reasons and pictures if possible. P.S.: If anyone has any "end of the tubs" of "left over" samples they want to get rid of, I'll gladly pay shipping to test them out!
Have you considered Victoria Red Concours? It's in your price range, and durability is pretty great from the review I saw on detailingworld.
yes but vic red will sit above that swissvax.....way above what's wrong with naviwax not being available in USA? The world is now a small place and shipping international is relatively cheap RBOE is a good wax, something different in application and removal compared to what you already have. Hmmm actually you're going to have to import that too :shead:
+1 on naviwax. It can be had for bout $70 shipped to US from UK. I was gonna say Zymol Glasur, but that's better than the SV he mentioned too, lol.
P21S 100%? Durability is crappy (6 to 8 weeks), but super easy to apply/wipe off. Guess there's gotta be trade offs somewhere right? Besides it's cheap when it goes on sale, I've seen it as low as 32 bucks before.
Thank you all. I ended up getting Victoria Red Concours, Victoria Mayhem, Ioncoat Naviwax, Black Fire Wet Diamond All METAL, Poorboy's Wheel Sealant and Zymol Glasur. So as of now, the list sits as follows: -Turtle Wax Hard Shell Wax -ClearKote Carnuba Moose Wax -Meguiars Gold Class Paste Wax -Poorboy's Wheels Sealant -Collinite 845 -Black Fire Wet Diamond All Paint -Black Fire Wet Diamond All Metal -AutoGlym High Definition Wax -Ioncoat Naviwax Dark -Victoria Mayhem -Victoria Red Concours -Zymol Glasur I may also add Zymol Japon to the lst in the near future. Thanks again for the help!
Joey your going to be blown away by the Naviwax ! It freaked me out.. The paint on the CRV has so much depth and looks wet ... On top of that it feels so hard it may last a good month or more.... :applause2:
I use an applicator pad, 1 swipe = half the hood + 1 fender. Little goes looooooooong way with Mayhem and Chaos.
I apply all my Victoria Waxes by hand. Mix them in my palm and stretch them out a LONG, LONG way. I did a Mazda 3 with some Red concours, and I pretty much "tapped" the wax 7-8 times. Tapped meaning I didn't technically scoop wax up, I just let what ever was on top stick to my finger - since it's a soft wax -, so about half the size of my fingernail on my pinky was picked up every time. Thanks fort the heads up Howard, I can't wait to try it. I'll give you a call later today see if we can meet up tomorrow so I can check that out and pick up my tub.
i've got and applied vics red and chaos, i did the red three coats using my bare hands, pretty arduous but the results were worth it. then i got chaos the other day, washed the car and applied the first coat with my bare hands, the second and third coat i used a 4" lc red pad at speed 5 and i gotta be honest it of course was much easier, applied faster and the results were great without wearing my arm out. i also did a small area at a time, wiped the bulk of the wax off w/a mf, then buffed w/ a clean mf, then went over the whole car w/4" mf bonnet over a blue lc pad and the results were stunning just like the manufacturer says.
Maybe you were doing it in a colder than should be temperature. I worked it on at about 23-25 C (73 - 77F) and it was VERY easy to spread and apply by hand. the whole car was done in about 20 minutes. Anyone else have issues applying Vic Reds by hand?
Well, you're a little late as I've already purchased my waxes, but I will respond to your choices. Natty's. Apparently, red, white and blue are all the same but with different colors. I also am not a huge fan of PB's stuff. Megs. I haven't tried or researched. SV, not worth the price. I went witht eh Vic reds and I also bought some Dodo Juice Banana Armour this afternoon.
