Was at Costco today and they have this unit for $424 after a $50 instant rebate. I currently have a little Bissell extractor (the non heated one), and am unsure if the Rug Doctor unit is $350 better and worth picking up. For that matter, would it be better to make a big leap up to a Mytee Lite unit? Around $800-900, less water lift, but does produce heated water. Mytee Lite TIA
I have no experience with Rug Doctor, but looking at the Specs., the pressure seems to be really low at 28psi, and the lift is not too bad at 101". I also looked at the MityLite, and instead bought the Mity HP60 Spyder which has bigger tanks at 3 gallons or so, 100psi and 137" water lift, heated water, 3-stage motors, this unit really rocks. It is bigger but rolls easily and comes with another set of hoses and an adapter, so you can pump the heated air that it expels back into the vehicle while you are working on other areas, to help dry the carpeting. It is also strong enough to use a 6' carpet extractor tool to clean the carpets in your house, and Ive done that too. Good luck with your research ! Dan F
shane i have the mytee II and it works great for me. costs a little less than the one mentioned above. heating is the best feature but i am impatient and usually heat water before pouring it into machine. i like the crevice too with it since it seems to suck better and reaches the hard parts. one year with it so far and satisfied. i too bought the 9 inch 6 foot wand and do my house regularly with it. i think you will be satisfied with either. paid about 750 i think and bought it from detailing supply outlet in san diego.
Rcrew - I made a couple of mistakes in the MyTee HP60 specs -- It is 100 cfm and 120psi It has 2 - 6 gallon tanks for water and recovery tanks It has a 1200 watt heater that gets the water to 210deg F Believe the MyTee company is located in Southern California - their website is HP60 Spyder The Mytee Lite is here http://www.steam-brite.com/store/my...070-stage-100psi-1000-watt-heater-p-4369.html and its selling for $668 +shipping, this might be better for your needs... I got mine from a place in Texas, called Steam-Brite.com and believe with shipping it was like around $1,200, so it may not be what you are looking for.. Good luck ! Dan F
