I have a sportbike (as pictured in my avatar), I want to do some correction to the tank and the fairings.

    Anyone have any advice?

I feel like the fairings are vastly different than the typical car paint but I'm really not well educated on motorcycle paint systems.

Otherwise, I'll just go with the least aggressive combo.

I tried out some minor polishing on a friend's Triumph 675. I used Menzerna SIP and 85RD on 4" hex pads (white and black, IIRC, and on low speed), sealed it with Wolfgang and it turned out pretty good. Not showroom good, but it's a track bike with battle scars.

Aren't the fairing made of plastic ? I use plexus on my bikes with plastic and normal wax for my Vespa's which are made of metal...

Treat it like a car. That R6 has the same bodywork as my R1. I use Menz 85 on the lowers and the tank I'll do SIP/85 . I don't spend too much time on the lowers.
