Just a quick pic to give you an idea on what's instore for this write up :)

Traveled again to Houston, TX to visit family for the holidays. While I was there also got to get my hands on these two beauties.

Here is the write up to the Ferrari a few months ago:

    Start:

Last write up I thought the brakes were carbon ceramic, so I used soap. But this time the owner told me they weren't....so I loaded these things up with APC 3:1.

Couldn't get to certain parts of the calipers with the SV Wheel Brush. Solution:

Little bit of P21S polishing soap:

    Also did the muffler:

Trim was a little dried out and worn. Needed to clean it before restoring it, used APC 10:1 to be nice. Agitated with a SV Detail Brush

    ONR Wash
    [IMG]

I didn't want to use water on the engine so I worked dry. Cleaned various surfaces with APC 3:1 and SV Detail Brush. I will come back to detailing it the next day. I wanted to get the first coat of Powerlock on asap so it could cure 24hrs before I put the next coat on the next day, as the owner had a gentlemen's party to go the next night. Basically a bunch of stacked people roll up in the 458's, F430's, 360's, F40's etc and smoke a few cigars while drinking aged scotch and chatting. I love it :cig:

Car still had decent beading from the last time I detailed it. I hooked the owner up with some CG Glossworkz for maintenance washes. Also recommended a few detailing items for the owner to buy online (so he did....). This time I wanted to strip off the Powerlock and Insignis and put two fresh coats of Powerlock.

    IPA 1:1:

Powerlock via grey 5.5 LC CCS pad via PC on 3
    [IMG]

Plastics and trim got 303 and 1Z Gummi Stick. Door Jambs, wheels, and calipers got JetSeal.

After the owner generously treated me to Hooters (thank you), I wash/clayed/glazed/sealed his wife's Acura RSX

3oz CG CW+G, 2oz Megz APC (foams like crazy), 2oz CG Maxi Suds

I thought the paint didn't look too swirled before the wash because of the dealerships glaze. But after a citrus wash and IPA wipedown, the paint actually didn't look too bad:

While I was cleaning up all my wash media, I noticed this:
    ONE BUCKET FAIL :applause2::applause2::applause2::applause2:

After I noticed the paint wasn't too bad, I knew it would only take a two step polish. I had the rest of the day and the next day for the Q5. So I decided to spend the rest of the day on the Ferrari.

The previous day the owner gave me a ride around town in the F430 (we had to drop by my aunt's place to get a fresh pair of boxers, hahah kidding). After the simple ride around town and to Hooter, the wheels had a good little coat of brake dust on them. Crazy. So I wanted to add another coat of JetSeal to the barrel, calipers, and spokes.

    QD'd the wheels
    [IMG]

    JetSeal
    [IMG]

    PowerFinish on a microfiber
    [IMG]

yes I have lot's of padding under me to ensure no marring is applied

All metals got Powerfinish via hand. All hoses and rubbers got CG Bare Bones via Detail stick. Water drainage channel things on the sides got 303.

Gave the car a nice QD before the second layer of Powerlock was applied
    [IMG]

    Can you say CLUTCH
    [IMG]

Decided to do a little experiment to tell the difference between wax and sealant:

Still had a little bit of time left in the day. So I taped up the Q5 and attended the wheels. PB Bold and Bright on tyres. CG BareBones on Arches, JetSeal on wheels.

Menz SIP via Uber Green pad via 3401
Menz PowerFinish via LC CCS Grey pad via 3401
Flood lights and LED Lenser Tactical torch for lighting

Shot for about 90-95% correction because the humidity was bad that morning. The polishes tended to gum up a bit. Later on in the day I came back to the areas to clean them up a bit.

Nice work Lance I always enjoy your write ups. I was going to ask the side thats coated with Powerlock looks like its beading is less pronounced than E-zyme. Was that the old coat or the new coats of Powerlock that you applied?

    ^Thank you everyone! :)

    Thank you.
The left side is the two fresh coats of Powerlock. I applied like 4 sprays of distilled water and that was the result. Now if I sprayed more on the Powerlock side, the beading would look like the "clutch" pictures.

Huh? It's all purpose cleaner made by Chemical Guys. I didn't put a CG label on an Adams product.....lol :shead:

The CG yellow APC is like $13/gallon or so

    luke093 Welcome to Detailing

Well, I'm pretty sure CG owns Warner Chem soo, its Adam's that goes there to develop and manufacture products. And I dont think you can call them the same thing.
