well, as some of you may know, i have been working the miserable job of dealership detailing for a number of years now. it was ok for the time being, and some good money can be made in the area if you area experienced enough....and know the right people. anywho, yesterday was my last day at the job, as i will FINALLY be returning to the world of college so i can finish what i started. i gotta tell you guys, dealership detailing can be one of the shittiest, most annoying, agonizing jobs for anyone who knows anything about proper detailing. it goes against the grain of almost everything we know and practice, but alas, i have ridden myself of this poison. i gotta admit, i feel so relieved, and already am SOOOOOO happy to be done with it, so i can move on with my life, finish my education, and get a real fuckin job. only thing i'll miss about it, is driving around porsches, audis, and dubs every day. hell, my boss sent me a picture message two hours after i left, showing two audi r8 spyders sitting in my shop that had just been delivered. he said, "ya sure you dont want to come in tomorrow and help me fuel these up". low blow dude, lol. best part about it, my dealer was bought out by another dealer, and we were technically laid off from our jobs, and offered employment under the new company. well i conveniently declined employment under the new company, as i can now collect unemployment :applause2:. and to boot, i have a lot of details im doing now and coming up. its nice to actually enjoy detailing again, as working at the dealer really makes you dread doing it sometimes, as i was at the dealer 6 days a week. /rant.:drinking2:
Good choice with continuing your education!! You can never school too much. Quitting is one thing, quitting a job that you dread is an whole other thing, congratz man
Sorry, since I'm here so seldom I wasn't aware of your situation. What I will say is that I'm proud that you have decided to pursue your education. With the talent you have acquired you can earn side money easily.........which will come in very handy! Best of luck.
thanks again. i'm very excited as it shouldnt take me much longer than 3 or 4 semesters to finish my bachelors...or if i go through summer sessions too, just under two years. or two years max i guess. i'll always detail on the side. shit, thats been my "primary" source of income for quite some time now, lol.
Billy we never met but I have been following your posts since day 1. I learned a lot from you and want to wish you the best of luck getting your degree and finding a new path. All the best to you in the future. You made the right choice. Howard
thanks howard, i really appreciate your kind words. i'm by no means any kind of "know all" detailer, but i'm glad my experience was able to help you.
That is nice to hear. well wish you all the best for your future education and job. have a great time. everything should go on fine.
Billy, good for you for going back to school. Just don't burn any bridges...ever. Life is too short and you never know who you may need again. As far as detailing goes, one is always happier doing what they want vs what they have to.
Billy, kudos to you for pursuing your education. I know how many times you have mentioned in the past that working there was hampering your drive to want to detail, its good to see you'll be getting that extra passion back since like Richy said its something you want to do for fun. I wish you the best man.
there is a problem - by the time you are done with college/univercity - those jobs have been moved overseas...:shakehead:
Billy best of luck continuing your education. Too true, I have been unemployed for about 6 months now, after I resigned from my accounting position with an engineering firm I worked for. I received my BBA in Finance and have yet to get any real world "financial" experience under my belt. None of the financial firms are willing to give me a chance to start. They all state I need more financial background yet none give me the opportunity to get it's bs:shakehead:
