Thanks alot Micha, i've been eyeing your profile pic for a while too u know, what a beautiful w210, wish i can see her in a better definiton picture.

as far as i know there are only 3 or four malachite greet w202s ever impirted here to Indonesia, and mine was custom ordered by the first owner when he bought the car in 94. The color first originated in MY1974 S class, I also find out hat malachite green was the color that Porsche used on their Cayman. Peculiar, yes, but it sorta grows on u.

your w210's color is beautiful also, whats the Mercedes designation for that one? I'm kinda obsessed in memorizing Mercedes's paint color names, i dunno why

What type of clay do you use? Is Riccardo yellow available? We can't get Riccardo in USA

Thanks for the kind words.... my color is Smoke Silver "rauchsilber" in it's native tongue... Paint code 702.

That "Malachite" or Spruce Green, with code 249, is one of the best colors MB has used. I recall seeing a handful of w126 diesels and w140's in this color stateside...

is 702 the same as the ones we normally see on w201 2.3 / 2.5 s?

tell me, what do u like about Spruce green?
i always liked smoke silver bcoz its just like the name suggests, silver but there's a hint of smokey gold

@SoCalBri: i used opticlay, havent found any supplier that can get ricardo clay for me. why are they so sought after mate? ps: next time u come here, lemme know if u need any help, feel free to PM

I believe so, I've seen it on some w201's as well.

Just a gorgeous color to appreciate for it's metallic flake and depth when properly maintined. It looks really classy, IMO.

it does sound "Steamy" ... stern and steamy at the same time, very German'esque :p:

Thanks Bob. I think Riccardo is sought after and spoken highly of by many of the forum members for the some but not all of the following reasons:

    1. Durablility. Lasts longer than the others

    2. Easier to work with. Feels better in the hand because it's not falling apart like other clays
and is not as sensitive to what lube you use.

    3. I've heard of some detailers only using water as lube because of the quality of the clay

    4. It's a premium product at a non-premium price if u can find it.

    5. I believe there is a patent by a company called Claymagic that all clays sold in the USA
are based on and from what I understand is substantially inferior to Riccardo clay. Keep
checking around because I think it would be available to you.

    6. There is an article in this forum under the detailing materials section
washing/claying/engine/wheels+tires that has an article about Claybars you may find
    interesting.

ahh thats why its "illegal" in the states, i thought it was like, chemically unsafe or sumthin'
    thanks for the info Mate

    @rauchsilber Chris :
still finishing a w124 mate, will post pics later, and thanks for noticing the paint color, u truly are a die hard mecr enthusiast :) nice to meet a kindred spirit

I do what I can :mounty:

What would really be exciting, is a w210 E55, in Smoke Silver.... or even a w211 E63... Hmmm.....
