i'm thinking about having a go at my cars glass with some swissvax cleaner fluid using my griots DA. has anyone done this that can provide any feedback? also, im not really positive which pad i would like to use...black, blue or green. i'm simply trying to accomplish a "deep clean" of my glass, after claying of course. i dont use paint cleaners really, so cleaner fluid is my only option in case anyone is going to recommend klasse AIO or something of the sort. or should i have a go with some type of menz polish instead? i'd like to actually correct my windshield and rear hatch window as well as they have some light wiper blade scratches that drive me nuts, but i'm leaving that for my spring correction.
I have used SV CF with a black (glaze) pad on paint but for glass if you want to clean it try something like 106FA or 85rd with a gray/white pad and you will be fine. Now, removing scratches from glass is hard and need a very hard glass polish using a high speed roatary...
Thanks for the input ankeet. I will try 85RD but will probably try the CF as well anyway just for kicks.
I have used various Menzerna polishes and a DA to try and remove water spots off off windows and have also tried a dedicated glass water spot removal product. I would definitely say the glass product (DP glass restorer) yielded a better correction % and took a lot less time than the paint polishes. Would be interested to hear how the CF works out for you...
Yes I am aware of this. The mention of correcting my glass was merely a sidebar to my main topic, which was asking about whether paint cleaners (swissvax cf) are any good via DA at "polishing" and deep cleaning glass.
Is it just regular cleaning fluid or Pro? Obviously just make sure you 'finish down' properly with whatever you use. I remember on my Lincoln I used a mid-range polish and didn't finish down, spiderwebbing all over the windshield.
yeah its just regular cleaner fluid. ive heard of people having good results using werkstat prime on glass so i figured cleaner fluid may be good as well.
One thing to remember is the SV CF does not have any abrasives/cut while Prime does not ha little bit of cut/abrasives in ti.
