Looks great. very nice results as usual. did you ever remove ferrari badge on the trunk? makes it so much easier to polish that area. removed one today and its not very hard but those special clips are not very ear to remove though, they could have used screwes like on everything else

If the residue is not built up too bad then some IPA on a MF towel will work fine. If its a little tougher using something 3M adhesive remover on an MF towel works well also.

The picture with my pad spinning right near the taped up Ferrari badge should be a clear signal to say "Nope, didnt remove it" :thumb:

I dont find a need to... simply tape it off tightly, machine with a larger pad to both ends of the badge and then switch up to a 3' pad and hit the small bar top portion, hence why I laid tape over the glass engine cover so I can run a pad over the edge when polishing above the badge.

I love your little tricks Dave (hotdog toothpick and hospital glass towels).

Video review I did, should give a good indication of how the machine works, sounds and my general take on it. After using it extensively on 2 correction jobs it is my choice for a rotary machine.

    amazing job, amazing car

what tape are you using? i dont recognize the color. i have tried megs 3m blue and green and not impressed by any they all seem to pull up and gum up as soon as the buffer gets close the edge

The yellow tape is made by 3M, definately the best tape I have used in terms of staying flat when buffing over etc. Problem is you have to buy in bulk.... 87 at a time.

Thanks Phil, good to see you posting again!

The new flex is a badass machine :thumb:

Dave if you dont mind. i get yellow and green tape from auto shervin williams stores (regular house or building paint shervin williams stores dont have it for some reason).
i think i paid less then $2 per roll of yellow tape(1/2") roll also bigger then one you can get at pepboys for twice as much

Get the Part number for the tape, I think 3m makes several yellow tapes. If its the same I have thats awesome, good find!
