Restoring a steering wheel

    Hi to all,

    A friend is re-building his M3 E36 and now is finishing the interior... a few weeks ago hi found this steering wheel and want to restore it... let me to try what can I do.

    How he let me:

    Very bad leather... some holes...

    Start to sand all the leather:[​IMG]

    I apply Liquid Leather:

    Sand a bit more... i repeat this 4 times (liquid leather - sand... )[​IMG]

    And finally, after few layers of tint... the finish:

    I actually want to learn how to do this! What grade of sandpaper did you use?

    What grade sandpaper did you use.... I MUST know!!!

    Also, is that CG liquid Leather?

    I use a P400 sandpaper :)

    Right now I use Leather Magic products, but soon I will try Leatherique ones.

    No, is not CG Liquid Leather, the grade was P400

    Fantastic repair looks like a brand new wheel. I would not have thought that even repairable short of recovering it. Really impressive.

    Wow that is a great turn around! I need to see if I can do that to my steering wheel on my Avalanche...
