water leak on seat rail. rust lead to carpet. i was thinking of cutting that section off and taking some carpet from an inconspicuous area and use a adhesive. any other suggestions?

Try the Folex as the other poster suggested. it works great. one customer was shocked to see their rust stain vanish from their rear seat.

Nope, just folex an absorbent rag and maybe a stiff nylon brush. I do not usually use a brush with it but on some tougher stains some light agitating will work a little better. hope this helps you out some. just remember to let it dwell on the stain for a little while.

BTW you can pick Folex up at Lowes, not sure where else you can get it. There is nothing special needed, just follow the directions on the bottle and it "should" remove the stain. Its pretty amazing stuff.

    Removing Rust Stains

    • Remove as much of the rust stain as possible before applying a treatment.
    • Apply a d-limonene based cleaner P21S Total Auto Wash onto the stain so that the spot is thoroughly saturated.
    • Sprinkle salt onto TAW.
    • Allow the salt and d-limonene to react with the stain for 24 hours.
    • Refresh the TAW to keep the spot damp.
    • Blot the stain (do not rub, as this may damage the fibres).
    • Rinse thoroughly with cool water. Repeat as necessary.
