EVO GSR is a 5spd Manual i think and ugh its like the model u modify cuz it doesnt have much stuff on it.
STI Hatch.... isnt that 5spd aswell?!?!

well, I'd go with A4 personally even though it has less horseys, but it ages better with you where as a STI or EVO may become like osht im too old for this noise and seats.

Had a chance a 2010 Subie STi recently and it has to be the smoothest shifting manual transmission I've ever driven. Definitely a contender. At my age though I would be looking for a high horsepower auto. The Subie would be a great 2nd car. My brother has the 2.0T and all he did was flash the ECU. Dynoed last weekend. 225hp at the wheels (50hp gain) and 270lb/ft of torque! Get the Audi!

yep thats what I was thinking to do to it, chip it and it can be just as fast as the other two on the road...

not sure what spec/equipement you get in your EVO, but ours has everything you need - nav, xenons, bluetooth, airbags at every corner, rain sensing wipers, etc etc

but yep you need the dual clutch box as the 3 pedal is only a 5 speed

the A4 would be boring after a few weeks. You can have alot of fun with the sti and evo, especially in tuning, heading out for some country/mountain road runs

for me I would say Audi, I had the STI and I got bored of it pretty quickly modded the heck out of it within the first month sold it in less than 4 months.

I guess that's why there are tons of cars out there to choose from.... :)

    Why not a pre-owned car?

I remember how fun was my buddi's evo 9 MR. To this day, I haven't found a car to replace the experience I had with it. not even a R8, RS6, n RS4. EVO is defiantly fun n gets my blood going. but is so noise n raw.

I don't live near twisty roads, but pot holes we have. I also take a 4 hr trip every month to DC, n I don't think I would be happy with the EVO.

I've been driving my W8 Passat (270hp/273lb/ft torque) for 3 years now and still love it even though its the only car I've never modified at all. I think I still enjoy it because it does EVERYTHING really well. 0-60 times are very quick, it has almost every option available including AWD and its extremely comfortable to drive. It never gets old. Would I like a modified Subie, Porsche or other sports car? Hell yes. But not as my only car.

The only pre-owned I get is a Audi and I don't see anything I like. plus this is my 1st new car experience =)

Mine has 110,000 miles on it and needs its first repair. Cam positioning guide and sensor just went. $2000 bill. But its the first thing other than oil changes since the car was new. Took it on a three hour drive last fall and averaged 100-110mph the whole time. Ran like a top. Did I mention I paid $15k for it?

I'd say get the Audi. Nevermind the performance and all that, its cheaper to start with and its a nicer car overall unless you really really want to beat some one all the time at a stoplight or plan on tracking it. The Audi has plenty of mods available, though it gets expensive.

If you plan on keeping after the lease... That's a whole different story.

100-100mph? Where did you go? I'd take the chance to slather the W8 with 40 coats of wax and sealants since its sitting in the shop doing nothing.

I'm glad you take care of your VW. it's the people who don't look after it gives it a bad rep.

Took the wife up to Kelowna via the #1 and the Coquihalla last October. 6pm on the Coq in October = no traffic at all. :) The Passat got a thorough cleaning and two coats of AG HD before getting put to bed.

Get the Audi mate. Classy vehicle. And you won't look like a boy racer everywhere you go.

I've been cleaning a lot of A4's at the dealership, and I must say they do absolutely nothing for me. In some cases I find the '11 or '10 Jettas to have a nicer interior than 08-10 A4's, which is really embarassing. They just feel cheap to me.

Haven't worked on a newer A4 but the new VWs have beautiful interiors.

You know, the slightly used car route is really the way to go. It took me 30 years to figure out why my Dad always purchased used cars but he saved thousands on every purchase. The Audi does sound nice though.
