Completed this morning 11-22-2010, this car is completely wrapped in clearfilm sans the decklid & wing.

The car has seen duty as a "Dad/momobile.............. pretty cool way for the kids to go to school I would think, thus there was quite a bit of cleaning required to get the car back to the shape the owner wanted.

At the start of the job.

    Dry trim.

Just a bit of wax in the leading edges............. all the seams of the film would have a "Wax coating" (lol).

Lovely....................tree sap on the film "Not good".

    Interior needed some help.

    Yes more wax.....................

One last pic of the "Wax build up".

I was under a time crunch as I have a mobile job going at the same time so thin on the pics.

Customer did not request the engine bay cleaned, but I had to do it.

Trunk area in need of attention.

    Looking better.

    Awesome job!

What leather cleaner did you use? Also, what was your method on removing the old/dried up wax?

For the leather that will be not be shared, but "Tarminator" works great on rubber ,plastic trim to remove dirt/old wax etc....

give poorboys leather stuff a shot, ive tried alot of different cleaner/conditioner combos in the past on different leathers (italian, german nappa, japanese tough leather) and found that to give the most matt finish

dont use it on the steeringwheel though, use a cleaner only - the duragloss cleaner works well and very cost effective

Great job as usual Bob. I'm guessing you weren't the guy that waxed it last time.

Nice work for sure. I never knew that there was even back seats in the GT-R's. Interior really needed help but turned out well.

Tarminator is bad ass stuff. A little goes a very long way.

    Domino,

Yes you can use even compounds on clearfilm, just not asvised with a rotary. As for the leather cleaning I do utilize Leather Masters from time to time(not on this job) but I have never used Poorboys leather even though I have under the CG label which is the same product and does work nicely.

I thought you only worked on perfect supercars? ;)

Excellent work! I LOVE to see a car, regardless of type, used exactly the way an owner wishes to use it.

    domino Welcome to Detailing

ive only ever clear bra'd side skirts on all my cars, and then only ever used a paint cleaner

i wouldnt mind correcting them though as after a detail out in the sun i can see a slight difference in clarity between the skirts and lower body - and the same reason ive only clear bra'd skirts and not full panels

    thanks for the tip

i didnt get good cleaning results from aio leather products on the white nappa leather in my M3 or in dad's euro cars, but the leather in the GTR isnt anywhere near the same high quality grain, and as such the pb works really well in maintaining a matt black soft finish
