GM = garbage motors. Their cars are as plain as butter and salt popcorn...C'mon, 21 Century generation does NOT need that, we want caramel popcorn and cotton candy!
I hate saying this, but if I have to pay their dept in my taxes - then scew
'em! Let them go bankrupsy! Their workers (who believe they can work in car manufacturing, not believe in GM) can find a job at different car manufacturing facilities...Heck, VW is building a new factory in Memphis, TN.

The "new" GM gets overwhelming response to their "IPO" (I thought the "I" was supposed to stand for "initial") while all the holders of "old" GM common stock are holding worthless paper. I know that's the risk stockholders take, but it seems that it's a case of the little guy getting stiffed once again, and everyone pretends that this is some sort of turnaround success story.:shead:

Everyone loses during a bankruptcy - banks, investors, suppliers, etc. - except the lawyers and accountants. It is not just little people.

toyota makes butt ugly cars and they still sell like hell. i believe quality trumps style even in our crazy world. i detail many more butt uglies than dream drives. witness bmw a few years ago and some mercedes.

I dunno, ken...the same mentality who thought a spoilier on a Honda Accord or Toyota Corolla or a Ford Focus would be needed?

Ken, youre using 'retard' as a insult...highly offensive to anyone who has a mentally handicapped person in the family... Its just like using 'gay' to describe something weird, or 'jew' to describe getting ripped off.

I agree the commercials are unnecessary. On Star is a fantastic service, tho. I know someone who had an bad accident in a very rural area of Newfoundland. The persons life wasnt in danger, but they were hurt bad enough that they couldnt walk anywhere for help. The area was so rural that the emergency vehicles had to drive over 75 minutes to get there, including many km's on dirt. Without on star, it might have been hours and hours before someone else came across his accident. Noone cares about air bags either, until one saves their life. On Star might not be hugely beneficial in an urban enviroment, but its a godsend in a rural area.

The interior of the CTS-V reminds you of the interior of a Cavalier. Really? REALLY?
The same CTS-V that has leather and microsuede seats? Stitched dash and door panels? 5.1 stereo system with pop-up NAV? A close friend of mine has had a C55, an E90 M3 and now a CTS-V. We both agree that the CTS-V has the best overall interior. His M3 had a plain vinyl dash and the design was cold and unwelcoming. His C55 had a hard plastic dash. At least his V has a stitched vinyl dash with a nicely sculpted interior. Call me crazy, but I think an E39 5series with full leather interior is a nicer overall package than ANYTHING BMW has released at present.
You also couldnt be further from the truth about the V's durability. The car is extremely well built, and very rewarding to drive hard. I find it funny that the german fanboys cant accept a great car, but the actual owners of the M5's and such actually like the car....as evidenced by numerous threads on m5board.com or the numurous V owners on the caddy forums whove previously only owned german.

You guys can crap on GM all you want. From history, they certainly deserve alot of it. But if you ignore the history and base your opinions on the actual car and its competitor, and actually spend time in the cars, you just might see that all the manufacturers are releasing very reliable cars. For what its worth, Ive always been a BMW fan, and lately Ive become a big Cadillac fan for good reason. Good cars are good cars, full stop. If you were to base a cars quality on the brands history, youd end up missing out the Hyundai Genesis sedan and coupe, or other great cars. Audi is another fine example. They made some major screwups in the 80's, but most people are willing to look the other way nowadays.

LAWYERS NEVER LOSE, EVER. Accountants lose sometimes, but only because its easier to do your own taxes than it is to defend yourself in court. :)

Well said. Some people get personally insulted when manufacturers make boring cars. What they fail to realize is that some people dont care about cars, and even some of the ones who DO care, still want boring cars. Buick has made predominantly 'beige paint' cars that were very reliable. It hasnt hurt their sales any. Buick does very well considering they are a GM niche brand.
