Hello, I'm new around here.

I've tried to do my research without having to ask questions but I'm hitting a road block. I've found togwt's links to detailing 101, etc but I can't view any of them. Can someone help me as to where I can view them or is there another thread showing me where to start detailing...the right way?

In the military when you take credit for others bravery and valor or claim to be something you are not it is prosecuted with "The stolen valor act" what then would we call what you did??............ that you "Mispoke" or it was a "Misunderstanding" at this point I know I would have exited "Stage right" and make myself disappear "With the quickness".

To quote a movie from your home country "Do you have the minerals" apparently you do or do not care what others think of you even after being exposed as one who talks about it as opposed to someone who does it, like a coach who never played the game trying to coach others.

Now even though the original person who got you good is banned here, unfortunately for you I am still here to point out truth as opposed to half truths or whatever you try and slip by with. It is to bad Jon because obviously you are articulate and do a ton of research which is commendable but balance that with documented plagerism and well.............................

Who really cares where he gets his info from. I'm sure we all learned something that he went and did the research on. Maybe he is the "ghost writer" for the many product sites and maybe he isn't but who cares. One thing I always liked about Nica is "If you have nothing nice to say don't say anything at all".

Plagarism is stealing. Are you ok with stealing? Where do you keep your detailing supplies in your house?...
Playing nice is a commendable goal, as long as theres still an allowance to be critical. Im very surprised how minor you think plagarism is. Try it at a university and see how long it takes to get your ass booted out.

The most annoying thing about this whole debacle, is that TOGWT could have prevented all this by simply referencing his sources like ANY uneducated person would know. The original blame lies in his inaction, not the others' reactions.

 

To steal ideas from one person is plagiarism. To steal from many is research.

 

If you pass off someone else's information as your own it is plagiarism, whether you stole it from 1 or 100 people. Research is fine as long as you give credit to the source IMO.

 

Regardless as to whether or not it's acceptable to plagiarize, because he didn't always understand what he was cutting and pasting he very often got his info confused. If I remember correctly his piece on cross linking polymers is particularly inaccurate.

 

I agree. It was just a quote I heard a few days ago, and found the coincidence too close to NOT requote it here. I thought someone else would recognize it, and realize the irony that I did not post the source of the quote
