This its our other vehicle so I wanted to post up some shots I took today. I had already previously clayed and polished it up with Menzerna PO85RD in the summer after we got it new from the dealer. It just needed a fresh coat of sealant since it was July 1 since the last application. Products Used: Sam's Members Mark Citrus Eco Detergent (for stripping old LSP) Pinnacle Foam Gun DI Sheepskin Mitt Grit Guards (via TBM) Chemical Guys Glossworkz Mothers All Wheel and Tire Cleaner Wheel Brush Fender Brush Tire Brush 303 Aerospace Protectant (Tires & Synthetic leather Seats) Meguiars Quick Interior Detailer (All interior surfaces) Mothers Glass Cleaner Blackfire Wet Diamond (LSP) DI yellow foam applicator Chemical Guys Monster Microfibers generic microfibers for interior and glass I applied Blackfire Wet Diamond to our ML 350 a different way. I did the entire vehicle then let it sit for about 30 mins after it was all applied and then removed it starting from where I started and ending where I ended. I still applied it in sections just didn't remove it till later. I think letting it sit a bit longer ensures better bonding to the finish, not only that I was still just as easy to remove or easier than removing when working in sections. Not only that this time I used a 3 oz bottle and put only 1 oz of Blackfire Wet Diamond in it which was 1/3 of the bottle, let me tell you it was more than enough to do the entire ML 350 and if you know the Mercedes ML 350 is a mid sized SUV. I had to pour what was left back in the 16 oz bottle it wasn't much left, but that just goes to show you that all you need is 1 oz or less than 1 oz of product do do your entire vehicle. Heres the pictures. Let me know what you think [
nice work...love working on mercedes paint, mercedes in general clean up nice. FYI i apply my lsp the same way, seems like it is easier to wipe when its dried completely, i do make exceptions like with 845 and really strong sealants.
great work. i also use the same method for applying waxes and sealents, if they allow for it. also by doing it this way i feel it can be more productive. while it is curing i can dress the tires ,clean the windows and other things that need to be done.
I have also used that method in the past. Not sure if it is true or not but in my mind i think the same way . . . . the extra time gives the product a better opportunity to bond to the paint.
Thanks everyone I was hoping you guys would like the turn out Ken I will try that out next time maybe let it sit for an hour or longer it time allows me to.
