yep and that's in cold conditions

should be able to get it just under 3s on a warm day with stick'ier tyres

these wont hit our showrooms till around this time next year, but ive already decided instead of mod'ing my car any further, im just going to trade it and put all my bolt-on parts onto the new one

there have been alot of little changes that all add up to what is being described as a very noticeable improvement over the existing model

looking forward to driving it irl

here is the '09 vs '10 for comparison - '09 0-100 in 3.5, they then tweaked the settings and '10 is 0-100 in 3.3. Its true in that a simple plug in cobb tune will get you under 3s on any model, but once you tweak the ecu you void the warranty

    That is so insanely ridiculous.

I don't see much point in launching an AWD car, it just puts massive stress on the gearbox. I don't think I've ever given my WRX more than 2K rpm's from a stand-still and even that is more than enough to get off the line quickly.

as long as the wheels spin on launch, it dissipates most of that energy anyway

with the launch control on the GTR, it has enough power to overcome traction, spin the wheels momentarily, and thus puts alot less strain on the gearbox.

the problem with the wrxs, and i had a few mates back in the day who blew diffs on them, they dont have enough power, so they'd drop the clutch, wheels just grip and it sends all that energy back through the drivetrain = bang!

the LC on the GTR is set at around 2700rpm

I should swap a GTR motor into my Xterra.

    Now you're talking lol.

I personally love wrx's. great cars, plenty of power and love the awd. The gtr looks sick but man that's well out of my price range.

Still, I just wouldn't risk it. I don't risk it in my WRX, and I wouldn't risk it if I had a GT-R!

just wait 5 more years, and you should be able to buy one of the first year ones for a very reasonable price :)

Wow thats sick, my buddy just sold his 09 and is awaiting the release of the this model. I am up in the air about what to do with my 10, I love the car and it is putting about 560-580 to the wheels. I did the 1/4 mile the other day in 10.9 with a trap speed of 129!!! The car is simply jsut a rocket but if I upgraded as well with my same bolt on's it would simply be insane.:applause2:

I'd love to have one of these, lease it, and just drive the bollocks out of it everywhere I went. Just make proper use of that warranty!

    mate that's awesome

its very hard to fight the temptation not to engine/ecu mod when its so easy to get more power out of it

there is a local mob here called willal who are doing amazing things with gtr development

    Aaaaaaand?

Low 1k payments is exactly what I would expect for a GT-R. Still worth it, they are such fun cars to drive!

And Corey, what mods did you do to yours? I have yet to see it in person BTW:gasp:

Yes, Dave, it is defenetely worth it! I think the adrenalin it gives will make it up for those payments!:headbang:

it really is a blast to drive

i often head into the hills late at night for a blast, way past midnight when i have the whole road to myself

the grip and gforces through the corners are insane, but even more mind altering is the acceleration exiting corners in the midrange in 2nd and 3rd

i was shocked the first time i ran the car through one of my favourite roads. I was so used to my M3, and being able to set the car up between corners, but in the GTR you have no time, everything happens ALOT more quickly

this is a really old video from when i had my 350, but these are the types of roads you have the most fun in a GTR

Wicked roads Sam! Looks like it would be a ton of fun. What kind of fines do you guys get for speeding? Ours were just raised. The big boy fine ( 40kmh over the limit ) will net you a $960 fine and they tow your car so there are storage fees for the tow company as well. :(

im not sure the monetary value of the fines as they are always changing (read going up)

our speed limits/fines are quite excessive here

police/local councils caught on a few years ago they can make good money off it, so you get fined for 2-3km/h over the limit these days, and almost every red light camera can take speed as well

its not good, the only salvation is to head out to country roads like above. You can still have fun as the limits are say 80 or 100 km/h and you dont need to go that quick through those corners. People get caught out when the road straightens up and they go for it
