Hi to all i do headlight corrections for a garage here in Barbados and i am wondering if any of the leading brands of sealants/coatings could be used to protect the corrected headlights. The sun here quickly turns the corrected headlight's cloudy in as little time as a month and while i could do the easy thing and keep correcting headlights i would like to offer a longer solution to customers so they feel satisfied with what they are paying for.

    best regards and thank you

I would suggest you try either Cquartz, Opti Coat or Gtechniq C1. You should max your protection with one of those. Collinite 845 would be another option. Sounds like you need something strong.

If you are too agressive when correcting them you can damage them permanently. Sun is a big factor here in FL too, so i try to polish out what i can before getting serious with it. If you dont get the protection your looking for from the sealants you can use a plastic protectant like 303 or diamondite liquid armor.

i try not to be too aggressive with the polishing stage i use either the kit lake country sells or the meg's kit depending on how bad they are most of the work is in the bodyshop where one headlight has been changed an the car now has one crystal clear and one cloudy so we try to bring it up a bit but i want to seal that work with something that has some durability

Helmsman Marine Uerathane mixed 50/50 with mineral spirits and then applied with a folded up shop paper towel (use a brand that doesn't lint). Overlap some but don't over wipe. It dries clear, has a ton of UV inhibitors and is way more durable than a normal sealant. I have also had long durability out of using Plastic Renew to coat a polished lens. Pretty much the same application process but a bit easier to use.

Those new coatings are an obvious choice if you can get your hands on them.
