Need help: Florida for the Holidays

Hey guys,

So I'm planning a trip with my buddies to go to Florida during the Xmas holidays from Dec.28 to Jan. 5. We are planning a road trip by renting a couple cars and driving down from Ottawa. It's about a 25hr drive from up here but should be well worth it.

Now, we are looking at places to stay and would much rather stay at a villa or house that people are renting out rather than a hotel/motel. Our budget is approx. $2000 for that week for accomodation. Just wondering what you guys think of this and maybe know anybody that rents out?

Don't know anyone, but I've tried HomeAway Vacation Rentals: Beach Houses, Condos, Cabins, Villas & Vacation Rental Homes with great success. (Rented a 4 bedroom/2.5 bath house when I went to Vegas last time)

depends on what your coming for and where you are planning on staying. Miami is LAME for christmas, its really only wild during spring break and everything is expensive on ocean avenue, but your less than an hour from the keys which is a plus. Here in delray/boynton beach there are alot of beach houses for rent that are reasonable, same for hotels, and relatively less expensive but not as exciting as miami, lauderdale, or orlando but not far from each..... If it was my money, this time of year, i would probably get a nice hotel in Orlando, and take field trips everywhere else cuz miami/lauderdale club scene is pretty unpredicatable this time of year.

 

It is very busy here during the Christmas holidays, but the weather should be a nice change for you!
I don't have a line on home rentals, but the link provided by a previous poster should be a good start. You also may want to consider renting a time share unit. Hilton and others have TS units the attractions area.

 

Orlando Vacation Homes, Orlando Vacation Rentals, Disney Vacation Homes I've used these guys 3 or 4 times, very nice homes and very easy to deal with.
