So I'm in the market for a new wheel brush again as my swissvax has run it's course. About a year ago I came accross a round glue brush online but didn't really look into it. So after coming here to DB I saw the thread on Adams lug nut brush and low and behold, same brush I came across last year. Lol 170 Traditional Large Round Glue Brush
Looks to me that if you bought the same brush that Adam's is selling (the 2.5") they're the same price. The other two brushes are less expensive, but smaller in bristle diameter.
There also appears to be a $30 minimum online order limit. Not to mention that *another online vendor* of auto detailing supplies has a small boar's hair brush for under $10 that's about the same size as the small one on the brush site listed @ $10.90.
It doesnt list the size of the Adam's brush. Looks like a nice brush. Anyone have it to know what the size is? That site has a few other useful brushes to get up to the 30.00 limit.
Probably the same thing, the Adams wheel brush is about 2-2.5" in length, and has a diameter of 1.5" but its dense so it spread out to almost 2". Only think I can see different is the Adams is 7" long handle I believe, unless they are quoting the total length. If then, they are quite possibly made by the same manufacture. But this shows the cost of the brush more or less.
The Adam's brush is 10"+ in length overall. Handle tip to top of ferrule is 6.5". Brush diameter is 2"+. Judging by those measurements (I just took in the garage) and the description and photos I can see on the brush site, the largest brush appears to be the most comparable to the Adam's brush. Maybe they're not identical, but they look an awful lot alike.
Yeah, because I fully expected Adam himself to be putting the brushes together in the basement where he mixes all his waxes together in the bathtub..... What is it with conspiracy theories and detailing boards? :shakehead:
In my opinion ( everbodys entitled to there own) The impression I got from Adam's is that this brush was made specifically for them as if they came up with the idea for this brush. Please now like I said this is my opinion and what I am lead to believe after reading around about this brush. The truth is, this brush has been around for years. And I'll tell you what, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out those are the same brushes. No one else makes a brush like that. Anyhow, this thread wasn't created to burn Adam's but it was posted to give the other detailers options. Just a good honest find that's all. Who doesn't want to save money?
Nothing wrong with that, blue1. I don't get the whole "who wants to save money" spiel, though, as the same brushes at both places are the same price. You can get a smaller brush for less money, sure, but if you wanted to do that you could go over to Autogeek and get a smaller boar's hair brush for cheaper also and get one of the forum discounts on top of that. Nothing at all wrong with choices, though. It always just kinda irks me though when people start kicking around the whole relabeling/rebottling issue as if it is some big secret conspiracy. As if Poorboy Steve, Sal Zaino, and others are sitting around in some laboratory with boiling Pyrex dishes and making evil-scientist laughs while they're concocting the newest version of a polish using super-secret ingredients.
Some times it worth paying more for great customer service and the 110% money back guarantee. But like you say this is just my opinion.
Nobody mention conspiracy, calm down :shakehead:. All I was saying is glad people can save a little money even though adams has good cs because they make it seem like they are made for them like uber is buff and shine and ADS sell 2 pads for everyone 1 of uber 4inch(I learned from DB forum).. sometimes some people think it misleading or telling something different. I just like to know who is making what, not being told different is my preference
Ok Guys!! let me be the first to order... I will keep every one posted.... Order submitted....:waiting:
