So, can someone PLEASE explain to me how blue ray lasers are used in paint correction? I work for a company who makes blue ray lasers and am curious how to use them in detailing.... Thanks. here is the example pic.
Isn't it for pinpointing exactly where you'll be taking your paint thickness readings are correcting?
Shines a spot on the paint where you take a paint thickness measurement and the laser stays put so once you correct or as you are polishing you can take reading from same spot to get consistant thickness readings. Paint thickness is not constant but highly varable around the paint so using a laser pointer will help take readings from same spot. Red, blue, green laser pointer it does not matter.
I currently work for a company that manufactures blue ray lasers pointers.... I wonder if the forum would like some? I bet can get a fat discount
I would be interested if the price is right. What kind of tripod would I buy to hold one of those though?
Yep, first time I saw it was a year or two ago in a detail in the UK, great idea but still cant get the exact spot technically but induces less variables into the mix. Still a good thing to do on a really thin panel and need to keep constant measurements.
What was the attachment so that it could be hooked up to the tripod? I read the write up as well and your M3 came out looking amazing!
I have a pretty powerful green laser that was brought to me from Thailand. It's insane. What are the specs on this blue laser?
I used red laser for taking readings. Blue and green are just more visible. I have green and it only cost me $12 from eBay. How much are blue and what is the power output rating? Can u pop gallons with it? Seen once that can
Somebody should invent one that disperses the beam into 10-15 points in a grid. That way you can get more than 1 accurate measurement on each panel without having to move the laser.
THESE ARE NOT FOR SALE So me and my buddy are nerds and like building weird stuff. My buddy works for a company that imports blue ray laser parts. Powerful lasers go for ALOT of money... Way too much for our budget. So we engineered our own very powerful blue ray lasers With a heat-sync that is custom machined to take ALOT of heat. These laser can be left on and you dont have to hold a button. We made enough for ourselves, but we were both talking about making a few more. These blue rays have a strong focus beam and can be focused to burn. YouTube - High Powered Blu-Ray Laser Pointer -Genuine Sony Blue-Ray Diode -120mW Output -2x CR2 Rechargeable Batteries (3.6v Lithium-ion Cells) -Anodized Aluminum Housing -Focusing Ring to focus the power of the beam -Circuit is designed so if the batteries are inserted backwards then the laser will not work, rather than damaging the unit
