Hmm... not sure but I am not the classical type of styling guy. I prefer something contemporary and modern instead. My father does some great stuff inside homes, but its usually 4000sqft condos downtown, hockey players homes and cottages, and the recent guy is a banana importer! He has some amazing cars! ex. DB5, Rolls Royce Phantom, Bentley Continental, Porsche Panamera Turbo, Ferrari F430, and as the winter beater, they just purchased a brand new audi A5. Greeeeaaat... There condo has been in the process for 3 years now, and as soon as something is done, a month later they want it done differently, the floors changed 3 times, cabinets more than enough, and they don't live there yet...

All I can say is, some people have more money than they know how to spend...

Because of your job that means I cant make a valid point as to why the home is priced the way it was?

    K got it :thumb:

I grew up with Richard Kurtz kids. I beleive he started off owning a pizza town and then moved on to realestate where he made billions. In this down market even the richest are not spending like they use to.

Of course not, this is a discussion between two guys.

Your initial opinion of the home being priced to high made perfect sense, as if it were a regular home built of the same size without the exact features and amenities this particular home has I would most likely agree $68m is too much. On that note you are correct, but you were incorrect in stating its not worth the price simply because there are many things about this home that you may or may not have known which substantially affect its price.

Just because you build other homes doesn't necessarily mean you can price this home more effectively. Hence my stating that I was "not able to make a valid point?". You made it seem as if "I know what the value is, because I build homes". Thats simply where I was coming from and how I interpreted your response.

My mother works for the real estate company that represents the owners, whom I know personally. I have spoken with both Richard and Jeff Kurtz about this home and they are both extremely proud of how everything came out because it was a lot of unique features to include into one single home. As of now there only a select few homes in the world which have some of the features this home has.

My mother has been in the home on a private tour and could not believe how many features and systems were built into it. The house was was commissioned as a "spec" home to showcase all possible features that could be configured for the other properties around the Frick estate. Kind of like a dealership spec'ing out a car with every imaginable option just so potential buyers of other cars can see everything first hand, naturally that car would be significantly more expensive than what people would assume its value to be.

See where I was coming from? I apologize if I did not clarity or elaborate enough Emile. So whatta say, me and you make a tender offer of $50mil? See if they take it? :giggle:

I'd love to see some pics of the garage, bet it's impressive.

That's nice and all, but I'd would've used the property differently. I'd have built a smaller house, with only the most important features, and the remaining land would be paved to make a short track for drifting, auto-x, etc. The garage would be where most of the money would be dumped. haha

on a more serious note, the house is huge. But even for a family of 5 it seems like most of it would barely be used/lived in. Now a clan like the Duggars I can see this being appropriate.

We are cool dude ... I feel the same way. I'm actually happier now with less money than before. I used to work 7 days a week 12-hr days when the economy was booming. I currently work 50hrs a week and I have time for the family. Money is nice, but family time is priceless ...

Oprah did tour the house. She loved everything about it but said it was not private enough for her. The home is visible from the main road. Makes sense. Would have be cool though to see Oprah and her entourage getting coffee at Dunkin Donuts in the morning, lol or maybe she has her own personal coffee chef?
