It was great to discover this site full of enthusiasts obsessed with detailing! Here are the steps I took 1) Wash/Dry the car 2) Mother Clay w/ quick detailer spray 3) Meguiars Step 3 Carnauba Wax 4) Meguiars NXT polymer wax 5) Collinite no. 845 insulator wax 6) Collinite no.476 permanent double wax I couldn't do it in one go so it was done within a week These two are magic waxes! I think after applying the Collinites, I was then very pleased.
I' sorry but that NXT and Carnauba are most likely non existent. IW845 is a heavy solvent so it would most likely just go through the layers below it. At least in my testing, the last wax/sealant on the car takes on the beading characteristics. Agreed, its cheap! It looks good! and its LASTTTS! Its also stupid easy to put on and do it thin. ++++ in my books. Honestly the best LSP overall I own, but its not the most exclusive or high end nor does it give you that WOW when applying and just having it around. The bottle is also stupid, they should put a spout top.
Hi Luke, Im a newbie on detailing and will slowly learn from experts like yourself. Thanks for your feedback! I have a few polishes and waxes that I have been buying over the years and dumbly applying it. Guess what, the longer I read the detailing forums, the more I realize half of these are just similar. Will further fine tune my polishing/waxing procedures thanks to you. Whats a good wax that will give you the wow factor? Thanks once again for your feedback! Jason
Being honest here the biggest wow I had using a wax was using Lusso Oro. Application is easy, the smell is exotic! Well... coconuts and leaves the garage and car smelling amazing! It also looks great and I like it over IW845! But I also have the P21S (regular and 100) and they are just fine. I think I'm going to get Zymol Glasur and just let that stay as the upscale one in my collection.
Looking good pare! I can't believe the shine on that car! I guess it's because of all the LSPs you used!
thanks Marc! The consequences of being a newbie! haha Long road ahead but I will get there eventually.
