What do you guys think about Optimum No Rinse for Clay lube and Detail spray. I wanted to get some and use it for wash, lube, and DS but its hard to believe that 1 products can be that effective at all of those things. If it does work then this is the most cost effective product i have ever seen.
It is extremely versatile and it works great. Buy the small bottle to try it out, it's really cost effective.
Various Uses for diluted ONR Dilutions as per label 1. Car wash solution - 1oz / 2 gallons 2. Detailer’s clay lubrication - 2oz / gallon 3. Quick detailer (QD) - 8oz / gallon 4. Wet-sanding lubrication – 8oz / gallon Note: 1. The use of ONR in a distilled water solution is an efficient method of cleaning as the polymers that are used to encapsulate soiling are not binding to any minerals found in ‘hard’ water, thereby increasing its effectiveness. 2. A solution with the dilutions (ratios) suggested utilizing a 16oz spray bottle (128 oz = 1 Gallon) makes its application easier
Works out great. I have the older version, it does not smell good but it works out nicely. Cheaper to use than a normal detailer.
That is what i was thinking. Even if i just use it for clay lube and wash i would save a lot of money. I currently use about 16oz of detail spray to clay a entire car. I do about 5-7 a month so its adding up at $40 a gallon. With ONR is would be about $2.50 a gallon of clay lube. :applause2:
Exactly and I save space. I just have one bottle rather than several bottles to store. Now if there is such a thing as concentrated detailer spray, that would be interesting.
ONR makes a great QD spray. You really cant beat the cost savings considering what all you can do with it.
I have used it for a while as the wash and the lube for claying .. I'll use it for a QD on door edges & wheels but I don't use it on my body panels. Very cost effective as a Clay Lube.
this post could not be more true. I really do not like hyping products and such, but ONR is arguably in the top 3 best products you could buy. I 've made mention to QDs that i like but i find that ONR can produce the same results as a QD but even better. Oddly enough, when i first used ONR i felt it was ok, but the second time when i got the hang of it, it is now almost the only thing i want to use.
anyone tried ONR in spraybottle as a waterless carwash soap? I mean spray on with onr, and wipe off with an MF. I would guess like a cobra Mf or something.
Optimum Opti™ - Clean water-less wash is designed to wipe away dirt and grime from automotive paint and other surfaces safely and effectively in a spray and wipe application. The substantive polymers encapsulate the dirt and grime to protect the paint from marring while lubricating and bonding to the painted and other automotive surfaces to provide greater protection while leaving a slick glossy finish behind. A combination of polymers and surfactant cleaners safely removes dirt and grime and leaves a glossy protective finish. Based on the same surfactant type polymers used in Optimum (OPT) No Rinse™ Wash & Shine New Formula (ONR) it has increased cleaning ability but is safe for use on all automotive surfaces. ONR works fine for a car with light to medium road dirt while Optimum Opti™ - Clean can be used on a car with several days of built- up road salt, dirt and grime. The reason is that Opti™ - Clean contains the same polymers as ONR that encapsulate dirt but at a much higher concentration, as well as additional polymers not used in ONR. A totally waterless wash that provides some surface protection and its ideal for a quick clean up or for use when there is no water available (apartments, condominiums, concours d’élégance or car shows) Simply spray Optimum Opti-Clean on any surface and wipe off with a plush microfiber towel till the area is clean and dry.
I didn't read all the replies, but I can say this: Ibought it to use as clay lube and mixing it to the suggested dilution didn't work for me. It just wasn't as slick as the Riccardo Clay Lube I also use. I found that adding a little bit of AG Car Wash Shampoo made it a HELL of a lot slicker. VERY close in comparisson with the Riccardo, which is still the best by my standards, but for the price, my mixture get's the thumbs up for current winter preps. My Dillution: 2oz of ONR 1oz of AG CWS 1 Gallon water.
It s all I use for clay lube and rinseless washing. However I don't really care for it as a QD. I much prefer the results I get with other QDs such as Adams and even Prima Slick. That being said it is still one of my favorite products.
