Hi...Every time I use the p085rd with the Uber blue pad it dries with in seconds and makes it a bitch to wipe off...I just wanted to know if the polish has gone bad.I've owned the polish for less then a year and I clean all my pads each and after time I use them..pls reply with help thanks..
Check the "Born on Date" at the bottom of the bottle and see how old it is. Where do you live, and what's the weather like there? PO85RD should have a longer than normal working time.
I live in Indonesia and i have same problem with Lav86... all i can do just spraying some aquadest or QD to make the playtime longer
85rd has long work-in times Im not sure if it was exposed to heat and the oils in the polish dried out because it should feel wet when you apply it to your pad. If it is has dried out I would try either a body shop safe QD or priming the pad before polishing so the pad doesn't absorb it all up.
this happened to me when i corrected my GTR i corrected with 203S and wanted to finish with 85RD but it kept drying on the paint and was like chalk wiping off i religiously keep the pad primed with a good QD like Prima Slick, and that wasnt helping at all, and this was during winter so it wasnt a humidity issue in the end i just used 203S and finished using slow speed ive tried 85RD numerous times to remove spot scratches/swirls in between washes and even by hand using a polishing pal it does the same my 85RD is still new, its less than a year from the born date underneath. Ive just conceded it doesnt work on this clear coat type so i went and bought prima swirl and finish and will be using those as a 2 stage correction next time
Uber blue doesnt work that nice. I use 85RD a lot and find that white/green or black pad work very nice with it. I see same thing it dry too fast like pad suck it up maybe or suck moisture..idk..
Like Farecla G3, 85rd is 'dried' and you need to spray some water on the work area. Please check this YouTube - Farecla G3 Buffing Video
i like to use a white pad with 85rd. i like to mist the pad with onr (@ clay lube dilution). One quick sprits from a distance onto the pad.
Maybe an obvious question, but did you shake it well before use? Also, are you priming your pad first? Another thing, thoroughly clean the tip of the bottle, as polish will dry and cake there. This might be heresy to some, but if this polish is really drying, you might try mixing the 85RD with something like Optimum polish--just enough to add to the lubricity. I'm getting my flame suit on in anticipation of that mixing suggestion! HTH
never had 85rd on any pad dry up. not really sure what's going on. are you doing a 1x1 or 2x2 area? are you starting slow then going to a higher speed?
Sounds a bit like 'sticky paint'. Menzerna can be a pain to use on sticky paints when using a rotary.. Try having a go with Meguiars #205. Kind regards, Ebbe
i do a 1x1 i start the flex rotary at speed 1 to spread and then turn it up to speed 3 and them BAMMMM the elfin polish dries..all my my pads are clean and i do prime the pads really heavy....the paint i was correcting was on a 2010 bmw 535i..sapphire black
