I have no clue why; but my dad's practically brand new (January 2010) 335i was horribly marred and had very bad surface contamination. Every time I would look at the car in the daylight it would make my cringe. As you can see below; it was bad. You can see the haloing from a distance Rough shape; take the hood for example During: Washed, clayed (took me forever and the bar is now in the trash), then off to use the PC to polish. Left side - untouched Right side - corrected After: As my second time doing a paint correction, I'm pretty happy with the results. There are still some fine scratches that you can see (I'm assuming a rotory would need to get those out). Regardless, the black looks deeper, darker, and way glossier. Compared to how it looked before; I would say it looks ten times better. Nevermind that sunflare and the little tree seed that is seen above my head floating. Basically. I think it was from the dealer service washes. AKA...automated machine, harsh product, and hand dryer with towels.
Nice work. It's a good thing he's got metallic black instead of jet black. The latter is impossible of keep clean. Nice 335i by the way, love those things. Here's my mother's...
We took that fact in consideration on the purchase - plus it's a bit more rare. Your mom has great taste! Cool to see another person who placed a checkmark in the 225M wheel. We had those installed, but swapped them with the 224Ms from my dad's Z4MC. :thumb: I still have a lot to learn but I'm happy with these results.
Any more pictures of the Z4MC? Would love to see what they look like with the swapped wheels. And any pics of those wheels on your dad's 335i before he swapped them?
Very cool, had not seen anyone do that before. It's quite obvious the 225M is the better wheel and quite frankly it suits the 335i just as well as the Z4MC. On the 335i, the 224M wheels certainly "quiet" the overal appearance down slightly. Interesting what a large difference the wheels can make to the overal vehicle...
Fully agree. The offset now for the 224Ms in the rear of the 335 are nearly flush. I'm thinking of measuring out the fronts and purchasing some spacers. Perhaps I can convince my dad to do the Front Lowering Spring Perchs to lessen the front wheel gap. While we're at it; maybe do some spacers for the Z4MC too; maybe coilovers too. NOTE: I'm a VW guy - so stance is a lot to me...haha.
Umm that's from dealership hacks polishing. they use wool pads and rotary to give it "more gloss" as one steppers... :loud::gross:
You need to borrow yo mama's car on week-ends. Easy access to a convertible without having to buy one. :thumb:
