My recent purchase was in desperate need for some attention. Looked like the previous owner washed it with sandpaper and just flat out neglected it. I honestly thought I'd just get it repainted, but then found this website, so thanks to everyones tips and help it is looking respectable once again. Forgive me if I posted the photos incorrectly...and the limited before shots... this is the first time I've performed a "detail" job on my car. Also, absolutely found new level of respect for all you professionals. Your expertise and results inspired me bigtime. I truly appreciate all your comments, and suggestions on how I can improve for next personal detailing. The whole car was as bad or worse than this... Getting Better... Finished Up... My body is still recovering from the beating I took after this one, my neighbors think I now live in my garage, and believe it or not, I have a white one just like it that I'll probably get to next if I have the time and energy left. Thanks Phil for the products I'll be back again soon for more.
fantastic job! the 3000GT (or GTO in Japan) was one of the most iconic japanese super car of its time especially with all the technology mitsubishi had on it (4wd + 4 wheel steering + alot of other stuff) However they slowly had less n less features as years gone by and eventually discontinued cuz its a heavy car I'd prob get one as a project car when I have space for another car (or maybe an older Evolution). Loved mitsubishis since I was a kid, mechanically proven to be awesome!
That is a giant improvement, and for your first detail, very well done! You probably spent quite a few hours on this...
Thanks. I had no idea what it was going to entail and I lost track of the hours after day 2. It really is a fun car though and I'm soooo glad I put in the effort instead of getting it painted. They only made 287 of these cars in 1999 so I really wanted to keep it original as possible.
Nice recovery and well done. Are you sure this was your first detail? (j/k). Agree, save the original paint if you can. Enjoy the car.
LOL. Thanks. It was my first and my last... at least for a while. That is a ton of work, even my eyes were tired from reading all the great info on this forum. There are still a few spots that could use an expert, but I'll save up and pay someone. Very rewarding to see results but the time put in is crazy. I was used to the quick wash and go prior to finding this website. Appreciate all the support, and I will definitely enjoy the car much better now.
