Had a customer just purchase this car for this car for his wife about 2 weeks ago, knowing the condition of the paint. I dropped by when he was purchasing it, at night and this car was right under the light. Then the car salesman proceeds to tell him and me that the paint is in good condition and those marks are just standard used car paint results. Long story short, my customer told the sales man he did not know what he was talking about, and they ended up knocked off 1k. As shown the dealer buffed this car and left the worst swirls and monogramming that I have ever seen. And what made it worse is that they did not remove any or the marring or scratches. 3 step polish was performed and 4 step on some specific areas. Items used Lusso Oro car wash Dawn dish soap Adams Detail spray Adams all purpose cleaner Adams VRT Adams Undercarriage spray Adams IN&OUT Adams Glass Cleaner Menzerna Power Gloss Menzerna Super Intense polish Menzerna PO106FA Menzerna PO85RD P21s metal polish Uber Medium Clay Sonax wheel cleaner Adams Machine super wax Lusso Oro carnauba wax Tools used Uber foam gun 2 bucket grit guards Flex XC2301 VR Sonax wheel brush Uber boars hair brush Start with the wash Cleaning the rims, tires and the engine bay Time to strip the old wax off All good to start polishing—This was the paint that the dealer said “Look pretty good” Clay after passenger door Removing the old wax from the plastic trim All prepped for polish and wax Just got this polish from Phil earlier last week Taped up half the drivers door for a 50/50 Hood before and after--- this was the worst body part of the car. Before AFTER I masked of the front half of the hood to see the difference. (Front done back not touched) After 1 coat of Adams machine super wax (this car will be outside so wanted to get some sealant on it) Then 4 coats of Lusso Oro Wax
Thanks! And 4 very very thin coats, because i wanted to make sure it will hold up for a longer time and still have that nice wet look.
Nice correction on that FX. You might want to try Collinite for protection. One coat of it will probably last longer than the 4 coats of Lusso and will look just as nice. Just saying. Did he take it back to the salesman? I would have.
It looks great now, I would have just not purchased it if it was in that bad of condition. I know know new vehicles come with scratches and swirls from the dealer and require medium to light polishing but my god that was horrible to have to use powergloss on a brand new infinity. But great save.
Thanks. I noticed that some people really like collinite but im not a fan of there products, but they do last a very long time. That is what i was thinking but it sold for a lot less then the book value, it was a great deal.
